Next spring, April 2016 to be exact, I am going on my honeymoon with my fiancee. Well actually she will be my wife by then! We are trying to plan as much as we can very far in advance in order to get exactly what we want. Our plan is to stay for a week in one of the Garden Suites at the Boardwalk Inn. We love what we have read about those suites. Their location, size, amenities and quietness seem perfect for a honeymoon. The garden suites are a tad expensive though and as a newly wed couple we don't want to completely break the bank for our honeymoon.
My fiancee and I have discussed finances and we do agree that we can afford it and will find it worth it to get the garden suite for our honeymoon if we had to pay full price. However we do know that Disney frequently offers discounts. Looking back at the history of Disney discounts we see that they always seem to offer that 30% spring discount during the time we will be going for our honeymoon. However that discount usually only shows up at the end of December. It seems like garden suites don't really get booked very fast. In fact I see that I can reserve one for a few weeks from today. I assume this is because the garden suites are only for 2 people and more expensive.
What would YOU do in our situation? Would you book the garden suite as soon as possible and then hope you can apply the spring discount once that comes along? Or do you wait until December and book the garden suite with a discount? I have to admit I'm a big Disney newbie. I've never been there before so I don't know how this all works. Are they very cooperative with you if you ask to apply a 30% discount to a reservation that was made months and months before the discount came out? We just know that 30% off one of those rooms would save us a ton of money and would love to take advantage of it.
Thanks for any tips/advice!
