I am going in December...DVC members and going for the first time as such. Of course we have been MANY times before! I want to have dinner on the Boardwalk and was never impressed with Spoodles. Any reviews of Flying Fish? Also, character breakfast at Donald's Breakfastosaurus?? This is an adults only trip.

these are two of our favorite dining experiences. Flying Fish is just wonderful. anything on the menu is prepared fantasically. my friend and her husband say the scallops are some of the best they have ever had. the fish dishes we have tried are wonderful, not fishy in taste. as far as donald's, it is one of our favorite character breakfasts. it is served buffet style w/plenty of choices. you can also order a made-to-order omelette. don't feel like you will be a fish out of water at the breakfast, as you well know, there are no children in our travelling party and this is one we always plan on doing. actually, both of your choices are on our list for december. enjoy!

I just ate at FF while on a business trip. I was there with 3 other adults. Everyone loved the food. The place was empty. The food was amazing. I've eaten there once before and tend to forget about it because we usually are not at the boardwalk area. I would definately recommend it.

DH and I love FF! I always get a steak, and he always gets salmon. Be sure to save room for dessert - they are fabulous!

Donald's is one of our favorites too! The food is better there than on other character breakfast buffets, IMO.

But, our all-time favorite breakfast buffet is Boma. If you haven't been there yet, we would highly recommend it for AK day! (When you get to AK, just hop the AKL bus back to the Lodge - it just takes a couple of minutes.)

Loved FF during our May visit. Just a little too much noise for romance, but the food and service were first rate.

We love FF. Honestly, 4 years ago I thought it was so-so and we didn't go back again until about 2 years ago. At that time it was a great experience and it's a "must-do" every visit now.

I actually tasted my first mussels here and I get them everytime! My 7 yr old dd and I sit by the open kitchen and the first time we went back the chef comped us a sample which was enough to get me hooked!! Their salmon is excellent. Their drinks are great as well. We like to sit by the open kitchen because it keeps my dd busy.

If it were just myself and dh I would request a quiet table in the back. Actually this is where they first tried to put dd and I but I asked if they had seating at the kitchen as it would have been boring back there for her. I thought that would be a great place for a quiet "romantic" dinner.

I highly recommend FF for a nice "romantic" dinner, but ask if there's seating available in the back.

I would definitely go with FF over Spoodles. At one time Spoodles was one of our favorites but we haven't been all that impressed with their dinner over the past few years so we go to FF instead. It's almost like the chef moved over from there to FF. :confused3

If you're considering another restaurant, JIKO is also a great choice. ;)

Flying Fish is a very good choice. We ate there last December and really enjoyed it. I had the Red Snapper and it was my favorite meal of the whole trip. If you want to try another great place give Jiko's a try at the AKL. :)

My wife and I ususally go to FF twice a year and it is our favorite restaurant at Disney (with Jiko's close behind).
