My son is asking his girlfriend to prom via an ad on a digital billboard tomorrow. Does anyone have any tips on taking pictures of the digital billboard? It may be LED lights, not sure - but regardless it is lights. I guess I need tips for photogrpahing it in daylight and/or night. Thanks!

Depends on the type and if it refreshes or not. If it does refresh put the camera on a tripod and use a longer exposure otherwise parts will be black. If it doesn't refresh just point and shoot. Expose for the billboard of course, which might make the surrounding area darker. If that's the case I'd take multiple exposures (bracketing) so I could make an HDR later.

There are several types of lighted signs in this photo - from the scoreboard to the banner-type signs going around the arena to the Louisville Cardinals sign adjacent to the floor. I didn't do anything special with regards to the settings so I wouldn't think you'd have any problems getting a good shot of it.

Neat idea!
