My husband and I are taking our 9 yo DD and 4 yo DD to WDW this June. Can you tell me more about the Kidcot stations? Where are they located? What type of actvity is at the station? How crowded do they get?

Thank you!

but ONLY for KIDS! Last October, I can't tell you how many parents/gown-ups were in line for the mask making themselves! One woman was so cheap that she was making 12 at each station to take back to her kids in her classroom!!! We also say a lot of younger couples (early to mid 20's) making these and it seemed that alcohol was helping them be creative. Not only did this make the line much longer and slower but these grown-ups were pushing the kids out of the way.

The activity (making and decoration a mask) is a great time but it does appear to take longer and longer to complete this than it did a few years ago.
The Epcot passports can add to the fun of visiting these stops too.

Good luck!

We've never had more than a minute's wait for any station - most are set up with a table for the kids to gather around and there is a pretty good flow. Whether that changes drastically from high to low season, I'm not sure. I'd expect a difference, but not a huge wait.

When we went, the activity was a mask - wherever the kids started, they got this mask on a 'stick' to decorate. Each station then had a small decoration that the kids decorate, the CMs might write something in their native laguage, then it gets attached to the mask. The add-ons were all paper cutouts of various shapes and the decoration the kids do is basically coloring, so you don't get kids sitting for an hour trying to glue feathers and glitter on to their mask. :) Each one just takes a few minutes. DD was 8 on our last trip and enjoyed it.

We were at EPCOT on a fairly busy day in December and we didn't wait at any of the KidCot Fun Stops. And my kids LOVED them  . It was what kept them going that day and it was fun for them to have something to bring home and remember that day by. I've been raving about it to everyone I know!!

My kids did this in August and liked it, I liked it because I shoppped while the DH sat with the kiddos while they did the mask!! (Most of the stations are in a shop or next to one.) We did not encounter many waits. This was the first time we were able to go into all of the countries because my kids always grew tired of the World Showcase, but this gave them something to look for, it was almost like we were on a scavenger hunt!!

My DD6 also liked it because she was trading pins and most of the stations had at least one CM who had a green lanyard on with lots of pins! She wasn't as intimidated to go up to the CM at the stations as she was to the CM's who were just wandering or standing in the parks.

There are also Kidcot spots in AK. The kids get a booklet and earn stamps in it for completing an animal related activity at the stops. My DS really like learning the facts at each stop. At the end you get a Rafiki stamp proclaiming that you are a friend of the animals.

My kids were 5, 8, and 12 when we were there last and they LOVED it! It really got them interested in going to all the different countries. I also recommend buying a passport for both you kids and have that stamped and signed at each country. My kids thought it was great that each person wrote something in their own language on each page of their passport. It is also a great (and if I remember right) cheap souvenier to take home. One of the few that my kids still have from our last trip.
