Can anyone help me? My DD's Kindergarten Teacher has a Rose Garden and I thought it would be nice to get her a Rose Bush to plant for her for an end of the year gift.

When is a good time to plant these in South Central Pennsylvania?? Would it be okay to give to her as a gift?? And, any suggestions on what to get and best places to buy ???

TIA

Melinda

Hi Piglet! :)

I only have one rose bush, so I can't help you out very much. As far as I understand, early spring is the best time to plant roses. Hopefully one of our rose savy Buds will have some suggestions for you! :)

Just a thought, but how about a gift certificate to a garden centre in your area, for your DD's teacher? :)

It's a very thoughtful idea, but I like the idea of a gift certificate better. That way you avoid duplicates and she can get exactly what she wants.

Dittos on the gift certificate. As a rose lover though I'd love any rose bush as a gift. She should have plenty of time to plant. Jackson & Perkins roses come in a plantable box with a tag that you could write on. I think it's a great idea.

What about a gift certificate to Jackson & Perkins? If I could, I would buy one of everything in their catalog!
