Ok, so Im needing to buy air fare for The week of Thanksgiving and Jet Blue just came out with fares. What is a reasonable cost for flights during this time? From Maine to Florida is $188 down and about $203 back....costing a family of 5 about $2,100.

Do I wait and see if they will go down?

IDK..with the price of gas I'd be concerned they might go up. For our October trip, I got $142 each way on SW. That is for non-holiday time. Compare other carriers and see if they are comparable. Good luck with your decision.

I'd buy it as soon as you find price you can live with. Whenever we travel holiday weeks I buy it as soon as the fares are released. I don't think it's ever gone down.

Im a fan of SW, but they are two hour away and have not put out there flights past Nov 4th.....This can be so stressful

Im expecting to pay a bit more than the average fare, but just not sure what a good deal is.

I recently went ahead and purchased our airfare for our Thanksgiving trip. We got $278 roundtrip on Continental from our little airport that's nearest our home. I'm afraid to keep waiting because I expect the prices to go up. I doubt they will drop, and if they do, it will only be by a few dollars. I agree with pp, if you see a price you can live with, book it.
