Need you experts to confirm this will work. Our dates: 1/3/09 through 1/11/09. Our group: self, husband, adult son (20's) and his wife. We obviously want the 7 for 4 deal. We have 2 rooms (preferred) at POP on 1 night reservations for 1/3. Then I got 2 room reservations on the 7 for 4 at POP (preferred), but only through 1/9 (so in effect 5 for 4 
; but with 7 day park tickets, so that part's okay). Nights of 1/9 and 1/10 were not available (at any value resort). So I booked one room at WL for those two nights (for the four of us), hoping we'd end up getting the nights at POP, which are "free". After constantly checking, all of a sudden those 2 nights were open, but only for one room and only standard. So I grabbed it and it's in my son's name--switched from the preferred we had. Then I cancelled the WL nights, which I really cannot afford.
So my plan is to keep checking to see if I can get the additional nights added to the other room. But if I cannot, I am planning that DH and I will stay with son and DIL in their room for the last two nights, paying the extra $10 per adult per night.
I am also thinking about cancelling one of the preferred rooms for the first night and doubling up that night as well. So, we'd all be in one preferred room for 1/3. Then, son and DIL move to standard room for next 5 nights, DH and I staying in the preferred room. Then, for last two nights, DH and I leave the preferred room and join son and DIL in their standard room.
Is this workable? Am I missing something? Any precautions needed to clear everything with Disney in advance (for MYW tickets--and perhaps DDP if we decide to do dining)? Any other suggestions?
