I have this picture that I'm trying to cut around Mickey Mouse and keep just that part. Trying to eliminate all of the gray background and just keep Mickey. I tried doing clone to fix some things but I even messed up his left ear a little bit.

How do I do that in Paint Shop Pro?

I just purchased this program not that long ago and still trying to get the hang of things. Here is the photo I need help with.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The first thing you do is save it as a psimage file so you don't lose any quality as you save it multiple times. Once you finish you can re-save it as a jpg.
The next step I use in this situation is to make a duplicate layer first so I never touch the original.
As far as actually cutting out the background, the best approach is to create a mask layer and start painting on that layer to mask out the background. This way it's easy to pull back a piece if you end up erasing too much. You are simply painting with black and white on the mask layer to show or hide the picture.

Here's a quick shot at it. I also went through and touched up a lot of the Black, white, and tan with solid colors.

Thanks so much for doing that for me. That is perfect.
