Need Help with a DisMeet Thread

I'm hoping you can help me with this.

User 'ksucats' opened our thread (Fantasy, 5/19/2012) and owns entries #1 & 3 on page 1 of the thread. Entry 2 was posted by Donald Applecore, who consented to us (our very friendly group) to take over his group and add a Room Call/Role Call that includes traveler info and pics. Issue is that the entry maxes out at 25 pics, I believe.

So, I contacted 'ksucats', and they have consented to us taking over entries # 1 & 3 so we open up the ability to post additional pics.

The entry contents from entries 1,2,3 would be added to entry 4 as 'quote'-d info.

Please let me know if we can do this.


Just a thought...or a suggestion....


If there was the ability to add a 'lead poster' to a thread that could create general entries before entry 1, that would be incredibly awesome. I guess the 'lead poster' would either be the person that opened the thread, or a person that they have consented to. It would eliminate the issue with titles being updated to read 'INDEXES on 73, continue on 107...Updates on 129'....

.....if we can make entries 1&3 available, can we change the 'ownership' on them? I (DizDaddy) have been maintaining the updates to entry 2 with Donald Applecore's (Bryan's) consent. If entries 1&3 could show me or Donald Applecore as the owners, that would be best.

A post can only be edited by the original poster.

The best thing to do would be to start a new thread and ask the original poster to edit theirs with the link to the new active thread. You can contact the moderator there by PM to see if they will lock the thread after you also add a post at the end with a link to the new thread.


When you start a new thread whomever is planning to remain active (you?) can go ahead and just make several posts in a row with a place holder text "saving to post rollcall", "saving for photos" "saving for index" etc. With the 25 pic max you may find it easier to just create an index leading to other posts with pictures. But you will be the only one able to post on those. If you have someone that is able to "co-lead" you can coordinate with them so you both post some place holder posts at the beginning of the thread so you can both work on the updates.

Just FYI, we have a thread limit of about 250 pages so if your thread is active you may end up having to close one and start a whole new thread in the future.

Thanks for the info...I may need to just go that route, and 'own' the first 5-10 entries, with the RESERVED verbiage.

Wanted to clarify that it is up to the moderator to decide if they feel a thread should be locked so they may decide to leave the original thread open. It is best to PM them and discuss it directly
