My dh just suprised us w/ a trip to MK April 19th-April 23...staying at the POLY!!!concierge..garden view. Now I need some advice, what floor should I request I have 3 kids 3,5,11 should I change to lagoon view? Is the concierge lounge on just 1 floor? Anyone used the daycare on site? What and where is tonga toast? How is the pool?Do they still have the electric water parade?Help..I'm so excited I can't wait.....

Congratulations!!! That is so exciting. The Polynesian is so magical!

The concierge staff has an office on the first floor and the lounge with food and beverages is on the 2nd floor. There is also a seating area of the lounge on the third floor.

We used the Neverland Club once many years ago. People who've used it more recently rave about it.

Tonga Toast is served at Kona Cafe on teh 2nd floor of the Grand Ceremonial House as well as by room servicce. It is very good and very very rich. Half is enough for me...with no syrup...it's already very sweet.

First floor has lanais or patios, 2nd floor...no balconies but sliding glass door with wood railings. Third floor has balconies but part of it is smoking optional. Most people say they never smell smoke.

The Electrical Water Pageant is every night at 9:00 unless the MK fireworks (Wishes) is at 9:00 in which case, the EWP starts right after the fireworks parade. We love seeing both from the beach.

I really love BOTH garden and lagoon view. Garden view seems more private to me as well as quieter. Lagoon view is great for watching the EWP and Wishes from your room if your younger ones will be asleep by 9:00. It's also nice for easy access to the beach if you get a first floor room. And you can see the castle change colors all night long. The price difference can be $50-100/night I think so it's a very personal thing whether the view is worth it.

There are two pools. The volcano pool is zero entry and has a long slide through the volcano and a waterfall. The other pool is large and the landscaping around it can be seen from Hawaii gardenview rooms. Both pools are very handy to Hawaii.

Have a great trip! We'll be there in 16 days...we'll leave the lights on for you!:sunny:

Wow! How exciting!!!:bounce:

I stayed at the Poly last summer when concierge was in Tahiti so I can not skeak about Hawaii. But - We (my DS and DD then 6 and 5 and I) LOVED the lagoon view. So much so that we are taking DH this summer (Thanks to the golden ticket from Disney Visa) With young children we are rarely out of the room in the later evening and getting to see the fireworks and the castle change colors...WOW! My son (who was 6 remember) acually said "thank-you mommy" the first night we saw the fireworks from the room. Made all the $$$ worth it.

Also they loved the Neverland Club and would have gome everynight if I had let them. Gets a little pricey:eek: ! My DH and I are busy planning the wonderful grown up things we will do when the kids are at the "club".;)

Tonga Toast is thick french toad with bananas in it rolled in sugar. It is sweet, rich and wonderful. I am a sweet tooth and I didn't need the syrup.

You will have a wonderful time! Happy planning and tell us all about it when you get back. Then I can read your report while I wait for 7/31!!!!
