Congratulations!!! That is so exciting. The Polynesian is so magical!
The concierge staff has an office on the first floor and the lounge with food and beverages is on the 2nd floor. There is also a seating area of the lounge on the third floor.
We used the Neverland Club once many years ago. People who've used it more recently rave about it.
Tonga Toast is served at Kona Cafe on teh 2nd floor of the Grand Ceremonial House as well as by room servicce. It is very good and very very rich. Half is enough for me...with no syrup...it's already very sweet.
First floor has lanais or patios, 2nd floor...no balconies but sliding glass door with wood railings. Third floor has balconies but part of it is smoking optional. Most people say they never smell smoke.
The Electrical Water Pageant is every night at 9:00 unless the MK fireworks (Wishes) is at 9:00 in which case, the EWP starts right after the fireworks parade. We love seeing both from the beach.
I really love BOTH garden and lagoon view. Garden view seems more private to me as well as quieter. Lagoon view is great for watching the EWP and Wishes from your room if your younger ones will be asleep by 9:00. It's also nice for easy access to the beach if you get a first floor room. And you can see the castle change colors all night long. The price difference can be $50-100/night I think so it's a very personal thing whether the view is worth it.
There are two pools. The volcano pool is zero entry and has a long slide through the volcano and a waterfall. The other pool is large and the landscaping around it can be seen from Hawaii gardenview rooms. Both pools are very handy to Hawaii.
Have a great trip! We'll be there in 16 days...we'll leave the lights on for you!
