DBF and I are planning a trip in November. My 30th birthday falls during the end of our trip, so I know he is trying to plan a surprise for me. His birthday is a week and a half before we leave, so I would like to surprise him with something special in the beginning of our trip. I fully plan to let him have a day where he picks what we do and where we eat, but does anyone have any other ideas for a surprise for him? Maybe something I could have waiting in the room when we arrive? Or something special for our day at Universal?

He will be 29, and is a big Disney fan but hasn't been in years. Goofy is his favorite character. He loves getting autographs and pictures with characters. He has mentioned he wants to try beer in Germany and England.

Any ideas you have would be appreciated. I want to do something special for him, but I don't want it to be lame. :goodvibes

you could do the character breakfast at BC - Goofy beach blast.

lots of adults are here (the food is pretty good for a buffett)

My DH (then 30) was pleasantly suprised by a Epcot Segway tour. It was fun!

does he likes cakes... maybe a birthday cake waiting in the room for him..

where are you staying ??? last December when at the GF a butler knocked at one of the guest room and ask for a certain guest... the wife was already downstairs ... prior to all this the butler had wheeled a food cart/tray by the veranda area of the 1st floor where we were located... this was just in time for the EWP... husband came behind the butler and all I heard by the time he got there was a loud OMG! ~ I thought it was cute... it was an anniversary dessert overlooking the wishes fireworks... ... :cloud9:

I second this! Whenever I see people ask about doing something special, I always recommend the segway tour. I'm a segway tour pusher!

I've heard of other wives ordering the Pirate Hat / Bucket of Beer from the Disney Florist. From what I know, it can't arrive already in your hotel room (because it clearly has alcohol), but if you can distract him and pick it up from the front desk while he's off somewhere else, it's a really cute surprise for a man that likes to drink! I'm thinking of ordering it for my DH myself =)

i surprised dbf for his 30th by upgrading to club level!

they also set up a candy package and a hidden mickey book in the room for him!!

he loved it!!

Take a segway tour around epcot. My husband and I did it and it was great. A lot of fun, to see epcot before the park opens. Keys to the kingdom tour in magic kingdom is also a lot of fun. You get to see underground and all what happens behind the scenes at that park. It is very interesting. Have fun you only turn 30 once! :)
