Our first day at Disney will be Sunday Nov 9. With the Super Soap weekend going on on the Sunday, and Veterans Day on Tuesday, which park should we go to on the Sunday, Monday and Tuesday to minimize the crowds? We have time to be in each park for only one day and want to be at the least crowded parks so we can see/do everything in one day.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

I think there are a fe choices you need to make.

1.) Will you be utilizing EE?
2.) Do you want to attend Super Soap Weekend?
3.) Are you traveling with children? Ages?
4.) What are your priorities for the parks? Is this a see everything vacation or a see what we can?

Melissa

Wow Sharenl, We have the same questions! Melika77 the answers to your questions in our case (so I too may get some advice) are: We will not be utilizing EE, No children DS is 25, we do not want to attend Super Soaps and we will be focusing on Epcot. We also want to spend time at MGM and MK.
Thanks for any advice!

Hi

-We don't want to do the Super Soaps
-We can't do EE (we're staying offsite)
-Children are 7, 9, 11 & 14
-We want to do all the parks (we're there for a week, 8-16th, but also want to do Universal (2 days) and SeaWorld (1day) )

We had planned on Disney first, SeaWorld in the middle and then ending with Universal. If you have any thoughts on that, please let me know

I would find out which parks have EE on what days, and avoid that particular park, and go to one of the others. The EE parks tend to get really crowded.::MinnieMo

Looks like MK on Monday since Sunday is EE day and I would skip MK on any holiday when the locals go. I'd do AK/Epcot on Sunday and then wind up at MGM on Tuesday I guess - so long as that isn't an EE day there? don't have my list.

No plan will be perfect. Try to have a rough idea and be flexible without driving yourself nuts.

Just click on the "theme park info" above and you'll see a listing there.

Early Entry days are:
Sunday Magic Kingdom
Monday Disney's Animal Kingdom
Tuesday Disney-MGM Studios
Wednesday Epcot
Thursday Magic Kingdom
Friday Disney's Animal Kingdom
Saturday Disney-MGM Studios

Sharonel, I would actually avoid MK on Monday also. Saturdays and Mondays are two of MK's busiest days. I would go on Tuesday instead unless you go right at Park Opening or your kids just can't wait to go there. OR ... since you're going to be there a week, Wednesday would be an even better day for Magic Kingdom. That would be most ideal.

I'd go Sunday to Animal Kingdom and Monday to MGM and Wednesday to Magic Kingdom.

Are you going to have Park Hoppers so you can get to EPCOT too?

Thanks for the advice. Yes we will have the park hopper plus pass - we're also trying to fit in Typhoon Lagoon. What would you recommend for Vetrans Day - is it typically very busy with everyone taking a 4-day long weekend?

Regardless of when you go, expect crowds at the MK... it has been packed on a daily basis, with weekends being even worse. I would probably go on Monday.

Avoid the Extra Magic Hour parks:
The schedule is as follows:
MK: Sunday and Thursday
Epcot: Wednesday
Disney MGM Studios: Tuesday and Saturday
Animal Kingdom: Monday and Friday

Animal Kingdom is usually pretty good on the weekends
I think I would plan Disney MGM Studios on Wednesday
Epcot is usually pretty doable on the weekends, but take note, that they Wine and Food Festival will be in full swing while you are there, and locals do go more often on the weekends, so Thursday may be a good day for that.

I would do SeaWorld on the weekend, as well. Universal, I would probably do on Tuesday.

Word of note, Disney parks are usually least crowded the day after a Extra Magic Hour day.

Have a great time, and I hope that this helps!

Hi sharonel,

Try this: www.TouringPlans.com/BestDays.htm

It's an interactive web page that tells you the best and worst days for each park for your specific trip. It takes into account the season you're traveling (fall), lodging, the park to visit, and the time at which you'll arrive at the park entrance.

The information comes from the 2004 edition of the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World. Let me know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Len

Sunday - AK till 1'ish, then swam and dressed for MNSSHP (in at 5:30)
Monday - Typhoon with EPCOT late afternoon
Tuesday - MK all day; was going to EPCOT later, but it stormed during dinnertime at the resort, so we just stayed in and rested.
Wednesday - MGM all day; IllumiNations that night
Thursday - EPCOT all day (they closed at 3) back to MK later for Spectro and Wishes #1. It WAS crazy that night.
Friday - was supposed to be catch-up or repeats in the AM with AK in the p.m. to catch Tarzan and the parade. Instead we were back at MK till noon; lunched at resort, then Blizzard Beach till they were going to close. Did shopping at DTD that night.

I've read other reports from the same week. The one lady that went to the four major parks at the same time agreed that the crowds were not a problem. Others reported horrific crowd problems. We did 10 min. standby lines for almost everything. Except for AK, we were never there right at opening, but were there in just a few minutes. That's the key. Stay away from EE park. Only Fastpasses I pulled were for Mermaid in MGM, Test Track in EPCOT, Pooh, Buzz, and Jungle Cruise in MK. Know what really NEEDS FP? Tomorrowland Speedway! It is every kid's dream to be able to drive...and it shows! Have a good trip! I wish I could go back! Melanie

Len,

When using the touring plan, is early December considered fall or winter? Also, does it differentiate between early December and holiday time? I would think that could affect attendance.

Thanks!

Early December is typically a slow season, I would consider it Fall for planning purposes. Another hint - take rainy days to your advantage. Rain = lower attendance. I went in February one year and it rained. We practically had the park to ourselves. It was fantastic. If you see rain in the forecast, consider MK on that day and get out your ponchos and have fun.

Hit AK and Seaworld on the "busier" days. I see from a note above that MGM is EE on Tuesday. That throws a curve in things. I would not do MK on Tuesday - not with a 10 ft pole. I suggest doing Seaworld instead and heading back to WDW on a different day.

Park hopping is OK, but really time consuming. Resort to this only if the parks are mobbed and you need to rethink your plan. I don't think that you should have too much trouble really, this isn't the busiest time of year. Just watch for locals on the weekends and holidays. Also, when you do AK, consider going over to Epcot after to see Illuminations, or over to MGM for Fantasmic.

Lucky you, almost time to go :Pinkbounc

Hi TammyC,

I'd agree with Kaitysmom. Early December is still fall. For the post-Christmas rush, we'd probably suggest the same days as summer. I'll ask Bob later this week and post his answers.

Sincerely,

Len
