Need help for a friend re: wilderness lodge villas

My friend is trying to book wilderness lodge villas for next november thanksgiving week. when she goes on line to book it keeps telling her unavailable and sends her to the grand floridian which is double the cost.


does anyone know why? are they refurbing it or something?

The cabins are booked, so it is sending her so something available. Thanksgiving week goes fast for cabins and campsites (among other resorts).

Wilderness Lodge Villas is a DVC property and is VERY busy the week of Thanksgiving. DVC members get first booking which starts at 11 months out. There are only a certain amount of villas available for cash bookings. Tell her to keep checking back as inventory may open up.

Do you mean next November 2013? If so, that's too far out for DVC properties.

If you mean this November 2012, see above answers - it's too close in time, very small property, very popular throughout the holidays, etc.

Disney owns a very small percentage of the room inventory ( < 10%) at VWL, and they don't usually put their villas up for cash reservations till 11 months out, at the very earliest. If this is for next Thanksgiving, she's too early. Just keep checking.
