I am charged with getting (7) 10x10 ez-ups and (24) 6 foot folding banquet tables. These are for a 1 week day camp for Girl Scouts. I have tried Target, Home Depot, Dicks Sporting Goods, Walmart, OSH, and numerous online sites for discounted pricing on these. I'm hoping to get the ez-ups for around $75-80 each and the tables for around $30. So far I can get the tables at Target for $42.50(regular price $49.99) and the ez-ups are pricing out at $129.00 each. Is there anywhere you have seen these items for better prices? We are in Southern California and our event starts the 15th of June.

You may want to check Sams' Club, BJ's, or Costco. I purchased tables and chairs from Sams' Club a few years ago, though I don't remember the price, it seemed reasonable at the time.

We got our EZ up style canopy for $50 at Christmas Tree Shops. You could try Sportsmansguide.com . They often have canopies/shelters at a decent price.

Have you checked into a rental center? It does seem like a bit much to buy brand new tables to sell a week later? Maybe I'm not understanding what you are trying to do. (Both of my girls were in GS and went to summer day camp...our camp provided the tables.)

I am a GS day camp director from Simi - hi neighbor. I purchased our for daycamp last year from Big Five. They usually have sales around this time of year on the Easy Ups. Ours are used year after year thought. Do you have any parents/volunteers who could donate theirs for the week? That would save you lots of $$$. As for tables - have you checked Costco? I think they carry 6' tables for a decent price.

What is your theme this year? Ours is Back to Basics (camping, tents, hiking etc)

Are you affiliated with any churches that you could rent tables from? I know we have scouts that meet at our church and we let them use just about everything.

I was wondering about borrowing also. I am a youth minister and have ask parents on several occassions about borrowing them and they are always willing to let us. I know that I have lent mine out to other events on several occassions too. Many parents who have kids involved in sports seem to have them these days. You may want to try that. I usually rent the chairs and tables for events and have gotten them at a good price also. It just depends on if you can use them later and if you have a place to store them if you were to buy them.

On another board I visit someone mentioned getting an easy up type tent (not the name brand but she said it was sturdy) from Dicks for $69 just yesterday. You might check them out again.

I ahve to agree with borrowing. If that is not an option, try Office Depot for the tables. We got our EZ up tent from Sports Authority and used coupons in a sunday flyer.

Lol...this is ironically funny to me. I am the co-advisor for a girl scout day camp in PA, and our SU managers were just tonight complaining because we purchased some reusable supplies for our camp last year - 5 gallon coolers, a parachute, sports equip., etc, and we didn't even come close to what you are looking at just for tables and tents! :confused3 I wish we could get those kind of supplies...but I digressb/c it is a VERY long story!

I know out here Dick's Sporting Goods and Home Depot have had the easy-ups for around $69 but we are clear across the country. And Sam's Club had the big tables but I don't know the price on them. Good luck!

Also - if any of the camp directors or leaders want to chat or swap ideas PM me! I would love to see what other around the country are doing and maybe get some new ideas! :thumbsup2

It is easier to buy them and sell them at the end of the week due to possible breakage/damage issues. I will have to check on Dicks since they are just opening here. We have never been stuck with any items left after camp. With renting, the costs are more than buying and selling. It is a much easier process starting with new and selling them at a great price on the last day of camp.

Actually, I just checked ebay and it looks like you could get them around $80 including shipping...
this is probably the cheapest way to go...
