I just received a message the wait list came though for a CAT 9 Ocean veiw stateroom for the DVC Memver cruise. Since we are taking a cruise in April the only way we can afford this is use our Points. What would you all do? I have until 4:30 today to decide. Is the Member cruise worth it?

I also am wait listed for the cruise....

If you decide not to take it, could you please let me know. I'd love to go.

FYI, When I looked at the prices, I thought it would be cheaper to pay cash, and rent out my points at $10 pp. Just my opinion.....

Have you gotten a price to see what the cost is now, then maybe that would help decide if using points is worth it!

The price would be $ 1668 total for 2 people. I would have to reserve all in cash today or half in cash and half in points.

I hope it's worth it, we're using points for the same category. We've been on a 3 night DCL cruise, and I think the stay at CC is a wonderful experience not to be missed. If I had it to do over again, however, I would have just booked an inside cabin for fewer points. We didn't know if we would like the Cat. 10, we cruised DCL after we booked the MC.

Best wishes as you make your decision!

Did you like the Cat 10 room? My DH and I really want to do this Member cruise.

Yes we did. We didn't feel hemmed in and we thought we may be, and that's why we booked the outside just in case for the MC. If I had to book now, I'd go with the 10.

Live and learn.

You could pay cash using the DISA and you have 6 months 0% interest. You could then use that time to rent out your points and pay it off. Plus if you cancel using cash you get the full refund if before 90 days. If you cancel on points you'll get penalized and reservation points back.

So if have a Disney visa you would get 0% for 6 months on booking a cruise. I that all the time or just a promotional deal?

Thank you all that have responded to my post. DH and I booked the Member Cruise for Category 9 room 2574. Just hope the room is not too noisy. Do not loose hope for those who are still on the wait list. MS told me they are calling at least 2-3 people a day regarding the wait list. I agree with the Cat 10 stateroom to save points, but I did not want to risk going on the bottom of the list.

That's great! If you sign up on the Member's cruise thread on the DCL forum, you can sort of meet all of your fellow cruisers.

PS. I don't know about noisy staterooms. I had planned and planned and when I got through to MS that fateful Saturday, it was like all of my planning went out the window. I took a room, that is listed as possibly noisy. This was before 10 AM!

I would expect that you might see even more wait list success around June. That is getting close to the 60 day cancellation deadline.
