Need help deciding

I normally don't plan out vacations more than a couple months in advance so I've had a lot of time flipping back and forth on what I want to do and need some help. I haven't booked anything yet (really hoping Florida Resident discounts come out first) so I keep changing my mind on what to do. It'll be just me and my boyfriend.

Right now the plan is to go up to Disney World on a Saturday for my birthday. We have reservations at Victoria and Albert's that night. Then spend Sunday at Magic Kingdom. I just went on my first Disney cruise and loved it so I changed a week at Disney World to incorporate a cruise. The only one that'll work with the schedule of not losing out dining reservation is a 4 day on the Dream that leaves Monday. I'm worried 4 days will feel too short since our last one was 7. Right now I'm undecided about the second part of the trip. Should we try a B2B (would be first time for both of us doing this) or going back to Disney World for a couple days?

Is the B2B worth it? It'll cost about $1,000 extra to do this option. It seems like you lose a day when you have to get off and back on and go to muster drill again and you see all the same shows and go to the same places. It would allow us to do the specialty dining and we could do different excursions to the islands would be a little different.

Or should we go back to Disney World? It'll be during memorial day weekend so it'll be crowded and expensive too, but I'll get to do more of the restaurants I haven't tried (already got the reservations) and potentially the new Pandora stuff will be open then.

Which should I do?

Thanks!

Back to back. The Disney Dream is awesome.

You say it's only gonna cost you 1000$ to do it. I believe 3 nights at WDW would cost you much more than that (hotel+activites+restaurants).

Sorry I don't think I worded that right. If I do the cruise it'll be $1,000 more expensive than going back to Disney World for three days. Would you still recommend doing the B2B?

Look at it this way, a four day or a back to back might not be as long as the 7 day you did, but it will actually be LONGER for you, becasue some of the things you already did, and you know your way around the ship better (even though it was a different one).

Plus, while a lot of the guests will be running around crazy trying to "do it all" you've already done a lot of it, so you can relax and do what you want, or do nothing at all and enjoy it!

As for B2B WDW, that is up to you. What would you enjoy more. I will say, the B2B won't be too much of lost day, you get back on sooner, I think they bring your bags right to your new room (if you have to switch rooms) and even getting off and back on will be a new adventure.

Have fun!

And Happy Birthday!

Concerning the Florida resident discount, correct me if I'm wrong but I believe they will apply it anytime between the moment you book and the cruise if it becomes available. Someone mentionned they received a call concerning a booked cruise with an offer for a reimbursment or a room upgrade (at the same price) simply because they were FL residents.

Really? That would make things easier I've been watching the prices. They have Florida resident discounts out through April so I'm assuming sometime soon the next couple months will show up. Thanks!

Maybe wait for a confirmation from someone else or call DCL before booking. I've read it but didn't experience it myself.

I have never done the B2B but I did think about doing it in the past.

I think there are two important questions here:

1) Are you sure you wanna see the Bahamas twice? (I don't think I would like to do Nassau twice in the same week but Castaway Cay, yes.)

2) There are no 7 nights leaving from PC?

1000$ is a lot of money... But if you can easily afford it and that it was you really want, then ... Go for it. :)

I like the ships more than the parks but the ships make me crave the parks, crazy eh'? I'd do both.

I'm not very excited about the itinerary and would much rather do a 7 night, but the Fantasy is doing the 3 day instead of the normal 7 the week before and I really don't want to give up my reservation to Victoria and Albert's which is on a Saturday when the next 7 day cruise leaves. I checked the following weekend to see if there were any reservations available but they're aren't any. We'd probably stay on the ship at Nassau anyway and treat it like a sea day and only get off at Castaway Cay. The money is a big part of what's holding me back, but if a Florida resident deal comes out it would become a lot more affordable.

I love the parks I go usually twice a year and this year we are actually going to have annual passes so will probably be going all the time. I've only been on one Disney cruise, but it was amazing and I can't wait to do another. I wish I could take off work to do everything, but the most I can is one week.

Be aware that you're on the cruise forum, so most people here will say to take the B2B. If you're trying to get to the next Castaway Club level or something, I'd recommend the B2B, but otherwise I'd pair the 4-night cruise with a trip to WDW, rather than tack on a 3-night rerun cruise at the end of the first. A Dream cruise and WDW are the perfect combo, imo.
