Need help - Coronado or Music?

I'm on the verge of booking the 7 for 4 deal for late May, but don't know which resort to book - Coronado or AS Music. I'm looking for advice.

I'll be traveling with my son - turning 4 on the trip - and DH. My son would probably be happy anywhere, but he does like AS Music, as we've stayed there. DH would like to say to stay at the cheaper value resort to save $, but when we stay there, he often complains about the craziness of the values and the cramped quarters.

I, can live with either, but prefer a quiet resort. The only reason I'm even considering AS Music over Coronado is price, but I fear I'll regret compromising over $300 when I need to be happy somewhere for 7 nights. If I'm not relaxed and happy, it's not a great vacation for me (although in the parks, all worries are history!).

I've never stayed at Coronado, but do love POR. Ideally, I'd stay at Poly, but can't swing the cost and I don't think it's available. I'd like something with more of a tropical feel, and DH stayed at CB once, and didn't like that one.

Please help!

CSR is my family favorite! Check out my CSR website below for pics and info. CSR has queen beds, full menu room service, a terrific main pool area and great transportation that is not shared with other resorts.

For me, the choice would be obvious - CSR. Your 4 yr old will love the pool and playground and you and dh will love the resort. Since you'll be there for 7 days (and with a 4yr old), you'll probably want to spend some time at the resort relaxing and playing and CSR gives you the best of both worlds.

Plus - queen sized beds!

Seriously, if you were happy there and your son likes it, is it worth the extra money? Disney's hotels tend not to be "top drawer" so....

Now for "tropical" feel CSR doesn't come to mind. It's themed like the desert not the tropics. CBR has the "tropical" feel.

Really it's just a decison on is it worth it funds wise.

My view on Disney hotels is they are rarely worth what they ask and the 4/3 is the best deal at the values, a slightly better worse deal at the mods and still not worth it at the deluxe. Remember the 4 nights are at rack and the "savings" on that ticket are a HUGE $10 LOL!

Looks tropical to me.

This is an easy one--the CSR. We did a value once when our kids were younger and they did not like it and we did not like it. Like you, I need a little peace and quiet on my vacation, especially after long days at the parks. I love the CSR because it is spread out, it never feels crowded, it is quiet and peaceful and simply stunning (just go to the CSR pictures in the Resort photo section). I am sure your son would love the slide at the CSR, you and your DH will appreciate the queen beds and the hot tub too.

I agree totally. CSR hands down.

No contest, definitely CSR. It's one we return to often.

Present it to DH this way.....Price out the Music without the 4/3 deal, then the CSR with the promo. The CSR option will probably price out less, so instead of staying at a value you can try a nicer resort that would fit your style better.

Yes, in reality there is a $300 difference, but that's a very low cost way to try a resort upgrade on for size, and I'm sure he would enjoy it once there.
Price out the CSR without the promo to see what it would cost normally, the savings with the 4/3 deal may convince him.

For $300 I would go with CSR - just for the queen beds. The CSR is like a deluxe for a mod price.

The only thing I really like about the values is the food court area - there are so many choices. I like the CSR Pepper Market but it is a bit different than the usual food court and seems more pricey to me. Better food perhaps - but huge serving sizes. I quickly realized we didn't all need to order a separate lunch.

I second the high cost of the Pepepr Market at CSR. While it has some really nice choices - I found it killed our budget in comparison to some of the other resort food courts. You just have to be careful. We ended up with a $60 lunch for 2 people - eyes were bigger than our stomachs and it wasn't too clear what we were purchasing until we were done eating (you pay at the exit).

Relaxing? Absolutely! On a budget? Might want to stick to a value resort. just my opinion.

I haven't been to CSR, but hope to try it next trip because I've heard such good things about it (thanks, Buzz). I've stayed at ASMu and loved it. You'll have to weigh what's important to you, but I don't think you can go wrong with either resort. Hope you have a great time, wherever you wind up.

I have stayed at both and if you are looking for quiet and relaxing CSR wins hands down! It is the only WDW resort I've stayed at where I didn't hear toilets flushing etc. It has a lot to offer your son too with the awesome pool and playground! If you can afford it, spend the extra $ you won't regret it!!

CSR hands down! However, if you really want to save the money ASMusic is a nice place to stay (sleep). The pool at CSR is the best and it has a hot tub too!

Does your DS still nap? That's the biggest thing I've heard, that the walls are very thin & you hear everything at the Values. Have never stayed in a Value so can't say personally though.

From a transportation perspective, I'd definitely look for the one that has the closest proximity/fewest bus stops, since a sleeping 4yo is dead weight and makes for a very sore back the next day.

Have fun deciding! :)

Made my choice. Coronado it is! I just couldn't pass up the relaxing benefits for 7 days for only $300 difference.

Congratulations! As I tell all newcomers to CSR, if you like it half as much as we do, we'll be thrilled because we love it! Have fun planning, and if any questions pop up, we're here to help.

Congrats - I'd be very surprised if you didn't love it!
