I just booked the Villas at Wilderness lodge for Christmas break. I was surprised that the CM said he had loads of rooms open. I always thought this was a very busy time for WDW. I have never been to WDW in Dec and am not sure what to expect.

Things I would like to do: Epcot candlelight processional, Princess breakfast, something fun for New Year's Eve. I have a 6 yr old. Any suggestions?

Don't miss the Osbourne family lights (I think that's the name - or do I have Ozzie on my brain?!) at MGM. It's in the back of the park and is amazing to walk through - millions of lights!
If you have extra time, it's also fun to visit some of the resorts to see how they are decorated - I would love to see AKL lobby at Christmas!- enjoy!

Thank you, I definately think a tour of the resorts would be a good idea. They must all be decorated differently. I heard that Grand Floridian has a giant gingerbread house.

Any more ideas?

Dont worry by the time the date arrives it will be pretty busy.

1. CP, suggest booking the dinner pkg. You avoid the lines and the show is wonderful.

2. Osbourne Lights, dont miss this it is incredible. We usually have an early dinner and meander over afterwards to view the lights.

3. Yultide Tour: This a wonderful tour that takes you to three of the parks, a resort and the xmas warehouse. The discuss the various holiday traditions and how wdw decorates.

4. Resort tour. All the resorts of decorations that correspond with the theme. The GF is wonderful, at about 4pm the CMs sing carols in the lobby followed by holiday music from the piano & band. We go for tea, roasted chestnuts and relax in the lobby. We also love FW, the guest go all out decorating their sites with lights music & animation.

5. Holidays around the World at EC. Storytellers in each country share tales of xmas. Love the lighted bridge synchronized to the music.

6. MK everynight at 5pm they have a flag ceromony and then a tree lighting show follows.

7. MVMCP- this is a special ticket into the parks on specific evenings. Many say they love this treat, but book before you get their.

If you will be there on xmas day or NYE I would strongly suggest making PSs for dinner on these evenings long before your arrival.

expect it to be busy. Since you have been to WDW before, take in slow and enjoy all the christmas extras.

PS are a must. We were at WDW 12/21 to 12/26. At the last minute( 1 week before) we added an extra night. Had dinner at 9 PM that night.

The parks should be open early and stay open late. DS 6 had a blast staying in the parks late.
We rode Splash Mountain over and over again.

Fantasmic is a must see, try an illimunation cruise , it is real special.

Have a blast you have a few months to work out your plan.

Where can I get more info on the Yuletide Tour? When can I make PS for Dinner Pkg for Candlelight Processional?

You have all given me some great ideas. Anything special happen on New Year's Eve that we shouldn't miss?
