I will be staying at the Buena Vista Palace at Downtown Disney.

One morning I need to drive to the Wilderness Lodge for breakfast.

One morning I need to drive to the Yacht + Beach Club for breakfast.

Anyone feel comfortable with giving directions from downtown to these places? All input will be welcome.

Question: I was planning on entering Epcot via the back in the morning at 9:00 A.M. will they let you in there even though the back is closed until later?

Thanks for the input I leave tomorrow and this is the last stresser I have to resolve.

:thumbsup2

yes they will let you in the back they will block the areas that are not open. as to the driving it easy for the yacht club just follow signs to dhs or epcot resorts then once you get close their be signs where to turn for the yacht and beach club. for fort wildness just follow signs to magic kingdom and go through the ticket both stay right and at the next light make a right and your there. dont worry you wont get lost their 5 different way even if you make a wrong turn just foolw signs to magic kingdom for fort wildness or epcot resort for the yacht club. the most important part is to have fun and relax and ride toy story mania as much as you can that if you like the ride or which ever ride you like the most

The signs Disney uses are your best way of getting around. On your first day to WL follow the signs to MK you actually will go through the gates to MK go all the way to the right then follow the signs to the resort. for BC follow signs for epcot resorts, as you get closer the signs will start to tell you for BC, There are short cuts and such, but following the signs is the easiest way.

I will back what others have said. We stay off-site. Our timeshare is not far from where you are staying. The signs on the Disney property are amazing. Easy to use, easy to follow. Know what resort area you are heading to and you are good to go. In five trips we have never really had any traffic issues, including leaving the parks.

If you do not already have a GPS, I recommend investing in a Garmin before you go. It helped us so much. Just gives peace of mind, KWIM?

Thanks for the input.

Any and all other input welcome seeing I can be directionally challenged at times.

Names of streets would be welcomed

As others have said, your best bet is to follow the signs. Just know that the Wilderness Lodge is in the Magic Kingdom cluster of resorts, and the Beach Club is in the Epcot cluster of resorts.

Having said that, here's what you're looking for:

To the Wilderness Lodge:

From the BV Palace, make a right onto Hotel Plaza Blvd. When you get to the signal at Buena Vista Dr, make a left. You'll stay on there for a good while. Not sure of an exact distance. Take the exit ramp on the right to World Dr. Stay on World Dr until you hit the Magic Kingdom entrance gate and keep to your right. After you've passed the toll booths, continue to stay to the right. Turn right onto Timberline Drive until you come to the guard shack.

To the Beach Club:

From the BV Palace, make a right onto Hotel Plaza Blvd. When you get to the signal at Buena Vista Dr, make a left. You'll stay on there for a good while. Not sure of an exact distance. Turn right onto Epcot Resorts Blvd. There's a Hess Station on the Northeastern corner of the intersection, and the Boardwalk Inn is on the Nortwestern corner. After you've gone under the bridge, the Beach Club will be on your left, just around the bend.

Yes, you will be admitted to Epcot through the International Gateway. Cast members and a rope are stationed to direct all foot traffic towards Future World.

Have a great trip!

Don't worry you will be fine with the signs. Street names are harder to find and not really used. We are out there about 2 or 3 times a month and I barley know the names of the roads. When your leaving to go back to your hotel follow signs for downtown disney, and if you looking for something and don't see a sign it might be -" all other Disney locations". Disney's signs are a different color than the normal green signs if you start to see the green ones and not the disney ones turn around your probably leaving disney property

Thanks everyone... love this board. Thanks for all the details I really appreciate it.

i use google maps all the time for driving directions. there is a neat little feature that if you zoom in close enough to the location, say buena vista palace and the click on the little yellow stick figure guy you can drag and drop him onto a highlighted road and it will open a window with the view of the road as if you were driving. you can keep moving along too to see where you are going. Its really neat.this helps me to become a little more familiar with were I am going before i get there.hope that helps. here is the link with the hotel noted. just click the man to the left and drag and drop near hotel :)

note= smaller roads do not always allow you to drop and view, when the road highlights in blue that is what you can view

Just a note that it is not permissible to park at BW/YC/BC resorts to go to the park for the day. The security guard will ask why you're there. The only way to do this "legally" is to use the valet parking.

I bought a Passporter last year and was amazed at the detail of the roads on the Disney property. Also, if you'd like, I can help you out with Google maps. I like Google maps because you can print directions both with the map part and street views (this helps when travelling in unfmailiar territory). Let me know if you want some help, but I believe one of the above posters gave some pretty detailed directions.

best of luck!

The Yacht/Beach Club will be easy to find if you're coming down Buena Vista, which you will be (it's the big street that DTD is on, you'll be turning L onto it off of Hotel Plaza) Just follow the signs.

To get to the WL, follow the signs to the MK. When you get to the toll booth-looking thing that says, "Magic Kingdom", go off to the right. The furthest right lane is for busses; you want to be in the one just to the left of that. Then, again, follow the signs.
