Where do you eat in Animal Kingdom for a counter service meal? We were not fond of Flame Tree BBQ.. is that our only option?

I was pleasantly surprised w/Pizzafari on our last trip. The chicken caesar salad was really good, but the menu is limited. They also have those picnic packs somewhere in AK that you can get. I think they have rotisserie chicken etc in them and I've read that they're good. Anyone had those and care to comment on where to pick them up and if they're good or not.

We ate at Restaurantasaurus and had burgers. It was good. The burgers were so huge I couldn't eat it all. NOt sure what else they had on the menu but we would eat there again.

How about the Animal Kingdom Picnic in the Park.

We did Picnic in the Park and it was really nice. The only thing we didn't like was having to pick it up all the way in Africa, we were on the other side of AK so it was a bit of an inconvenience. But it was neat having a picnic, the food was good (especially the mac & cheese side) and you get a tote bag to keep. I think this coming trip, we plan to eat at Flame Tree BBQ to try something different.

We typically eat a late breakfast at Donald's so I'm not usually hungry for a meal. But my DH always gets the CS at Yak & Yeti. Depends what you're in the mood for I guess.

There is CS at Yak and Yeti if you have a hankerin for Chinese food!!

Just ate here on 11/4. I had the chicken fried rice and pork egg rolls (both snack options on the DDP) and they were pretty good! The egg roll was a bit on the greasy side, but not bad at all.

Loved the theming of Restaurantosaurus, the food was really good for burgers but it was just burgers. I really liked poking around the restaurant though, the bunk room and the game room and all that (check out the song titles on the jukebox in the game room!). Picnic in the Park was also excellent, there's a review in my sig.

The theming at Pizzafari is good, breakfast there was good, nice and hot and filling, never had anything else.

I don't even eat barbecue and I love to go laugh at the theming at Flame Tree. It's a predator/prey theme ... and the tables have prey themes and the chairs are predators ... so when you put your BBQ on the table and sit down, you're making yourself part of the theme.

I also vote for Pizzafari. On one of our trips we ate at Rainforest for lunch and then left the park and had a quick service for dinner.

I was just going to post this exact question.

So is the picnic in the park 1 QS per person ... ie. you get the chicken for 4 it will cost 4 QS??

Any other comments on Yak and Yeti CS or Restaurantasaurus? (or however you spell it!!!)

Good question! AK is the one place where none of the CS choices sound amazing to me. We're (probably) going with Picnic in the Park, as I am picky about Chinese food and Pizza and I don't eat barbecue (no pork or baked beans for me).

Yes this is correct. We got the chicken for 4 and it was alot of chicken (very good) and food. You also get to pick three sides and four desserts for four people. The mac-n-cheese and fresh fruit was very good. Also each person can pick their own dessert when you order, so everyone does not have to get the same thing.

We did this when it came out in May, it was a nice meal and a nice change from the normal CS.
