I've planned 3 trips to Disneyland but the World seems overwhelmingly different. I haven't been since I was 12. DB and I very recently moved to florida (tampa) and have just done Universal, now we'd like to think about Disney.

Our budget will be very small. This won't be a trip for character meals or lots of extras. We will not be staying on site, just can't justify the cost.

We were originally thinking of going in early to mid October, for Food & Wine. We were looking at the FL resident 3 day, non hopper tickets. One day in MK, one in EPCOT, and the third at either AK or back to MK.

We're also considering an alternative of going in early December, to see all the Christmas stuff. In this case, we were thinking of only getting one day tickets and doing epcot, then getting tickets to MVMCP and only seeing MK during that, but i'm worried that won't be enough MK time. Is the party worth it? Or would we be better off just getting a regular ticket for MK and skipping it? I don't know that we can afford multi day tickets AND the party.

It's just the two of us, no kids. Driving from Tampa. My main focus is meeting characters, and just being there in general. We've already ruled out going to HS because in looking at the website it just didn't catch our interest. As much as I love ToT, it just seemed like a wast of time/money. AK isn't very high on the list but I don't know much about it either. MK is the priority in my mind.

So, if you had a super limited budget and it was your first trip as an adult, what would you do? When would you go? (we'd be doing weekdays either way). Any other tips and info would be greatly appreciated. We're just in the very early planning stages, but every little bit helps :)

With the emphasis on bang for your buck for first timers, I'd go for the 3 day tickets. Skip the party for your first trip, save it for another time.

If you go in October, don't go to Epcot on Friday; its horribly crowded in WS. As for your 3rd day, I'd say its a tossup between AK and MK. OTWH, you really can't see all of MK in 1 day. OTOH, AK is a wonderful park to explore. But it has shorter operating hours.

I'd get the 3 day tickets. If you love atmosphere I think animal kingdom is great. I love just walking around the different areas and seeing the animals. I don't think you'll do everything in one day at magic Kingdom, but if you've already been to Disneyland, you probably don't absolutely need to. Epcot is my favorite park but I've never needed a whole day there. Then again, how long you'll need for each park is so dependent on your own interests and what you like to do, it's really hard to say.

So if it were me I'd go MK, AK, epcot. I wouldn't go back to magic Kingdom a second day. And downtown disney for any extra time you don't want to spend at the parks.

Fl residents get discounts. Weekday select annual passes are $200. Since your in tampa and only 1.5hours away this is a good option. It allows you to visit multiple parks each day.
