It was wonderful! Here's my review from my May 2007 trip report:
Dining Review 3
I must confess, I was a little nervous about this one. The DIS reviews were all over the place and we had the last seating for breakfast. Would there be any food left? If so, would it all be cold and rubbery? Would we only have 5 minutes to get food before they turned it over to lunch and kicked us out? Would B completely freak out when he saw the characters?
Okay, so Im a worrier.
But my worries were completely wasted on H&V everything was just wonderful!
There was still plenty left of the breakfast buffet: scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, hash browns, pancakes, bacon, sausage, quiche, Mickey waffles
and it was all fresh, the right temp and very, very good.
Not long after the last of us hit the buffet (we went in shifts so someone would always be there with the little guys and a camera!), a CM came by and asked me if wed all had enough from the buffet, as they were ready to turn it over to lunch, but would wait if we werent done. Wow! I said, no, please dont wait on us and she went on to tell me we were welcome to avail ourselves of the LUNCH offerings, too.
Did you get that, people? Breakfast AND lunch, baybee!!! That last breakfast seating is totally the way to go.
I was full, but Gramma and D reported lots of yummy offerings from the lunch buffet.
And. Of course, there were the characters. Leo was so excited to meet his hero, he barely ate.
(The popcorn fest may have had something to do with that, too.
)
B wasnt so sure
But he warmed up to June:
BTW, June was really weird. When she came to the table, she didnt go to the kids she just stood there posing for pics by herself. I was like Uh, no Im not wasting shots on just you. Get down there with my kid lady! Strange.
Jojo and Goliath were well-received:
We all agreed this was an awesome experience all-around. The character interaction was terrific and the food was truly good. A unanimous 5 thumbs up!
