I have been waiting for 8 years to lose weight so I can take my dd to WDW. Well, guess what? It hasn't happend and I am going anyway!!! 16 days and counting!!

I have heard that WDW is big folk friendly, and, I have also read the WDW-at-large on another site.

But, I will appreciate any tips/feedback from any of you who had either good/bad experiences at WDW as a large person. I am especially concerned about fitting in the rides.

Thanks!

Go and enjoy yourself! I had the very same concerns when I went in January of 2002.

I was 6'2", 352 pounds, with a 54 inch waist. I had absolutely no problem fitting into ANYTHING. Getting in and out was not always fun, or graceful, but I managed to do it. And I was never once uncomfortable on anything.

Mission Space wasn't there when I went, so I can't comment on it.

The ONLY negative thing that happened was at the Peter Pan ride. They crammed 3 large folks (including myself) into one of those ships. Not only was it not comfortable, I spent the whole ride worrying about whether that flying ship would come tumbling right from the track. But I wouldn't let that happen again. When they ask how many in your party, just say 2 and 1 instead of 3.

Have a fantastic trip!

Haven't been to Disney in YEARS but love planning trips that never seem to happen.... :earseek:

Anyway - here's a link that has lots of tips, etc for those of us that ALWAYS live large... :p

I'm a "bigger" gal about 5'9 and size 18. My mom is a 22/24 and we've never had any problems. One funny experience though. Me, DS 5 and my friend and her husband went on Pirates together. They are both bigger also, for some reason we ALL sat in the front seat of our boat. When we went down one of the little hills we got soaked LOL! I had never heard of anyone getting that wet on PoC before:teeth: At least we were able to laugh it off, and now know that 3 large adults and a regular size kid shouldn't sit in the from of PoC.
