We're going to Orlando for Spring Break and I have to work the day we leave, making for a very cranky, tired drive down from Atlanta :rotfl:

I wanted to ask if anyone can suggest a CLEAN, comfortable place around Perry or Cordele, or even Valdosta that we can stop and rest until the morning? I am NOT a night person and Georgia Friday traffic can be a bear on any day so I'd only like to drive halfway instead of the whole way.

Thanks in advice!

I live in Valdosta. The La Qunita here is very nice (I stayed there while we were on a house hunting trip here). There is also a nice Country Inn and Suites. Both are right off the highway (exit 18 off I-75), relatively new, and are walking distance to places to eat..although I think they both have breakfast included in their room rates.

Thanks for the info! Exit 18 is going North, do you know what exit it is going South?

We usually have good luck just stopping in to find a room using the coupon books from the rest areas. Last Saturday was impossible though. We like exit 5, but struck out there and also in Valdosta. I was on the cell phone calling various ones as we drove and everything was full. One clerk in Valdosta told me it's always like that around Spring break time.

We finally found a room in a Super 8 in Adel. Definitely not my first choice, but DH was very cranky by then and didn't want to take a chance going on to Tifton.

The exit numbers are the same going north and south on I-75. The beauty of exit numbers corresponding to mile markers! Have a great trip!

Well it shows how long ago I made this trip! Thanks!

I'm a little concerned about the availability too but a quick check on the net and I found quite a few still available. I will have to book NOW!

We have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Cordele. Very nice and quiet and convienent to expressway. Have a great trip!!

I bid on priceline for a room in Valdosta and got the Fairfield Inn for $35 plus taxes so $43 total!!
