Need a Shrinky Dinks lightbulb

We just gave DD (10) a shrinky dinks overn for Chanukah. And you need to get a special light bulb for it to work.

So, DW and DD just came back for 1 1/2 hours of Target, Home Depot, and Waldbaums (supermarket) - and CANNOT find this light bulb. Home Depot says it's a real probelm - but they couldn't tell them where to try next.

So, does anyone have this toy - and WHERE DID YOU GET THE BULB!!!

Try a lighting store...they have every kind of bulb imaginable.

Uht-oh....I have a shrinky dinks and two creepy crawlers sets stashed away for gifts. I found bulbs, but now I'm wondering if they're the right ones. I bought 60 watt bulbs that would fit a chandalier. Do these sound right or will they be too long? I hate to break open the packages to read the instructions.

Hi...sorry to hear of the glitch...but you can place the shrinky dink on a cookie sheet in the regular oven at 350 for 3-4 min. and it will shrink toe item for yoou. It may help tie things over 'till you can locate the proper bulb.

We have this same shrinky dinks set and you may not like what I tell you. The set did NOT work for us! They don't make things the way they used to. (I bought DD an easy bake oven and it's a piece of junk compared to the one I had when younger)

Shrinky dinks work just fine in the oven on a cookie sheet - you don't need the machine. You can even buy blank sheets and make your own designs. I am into rubber stamping so I buy the blank sheets, stamp on them, color them in and then shrink. DS8 likes to make/draw his own. DD3 colors in ones I stamp.

Back to your question....I also had a hard time finding the lightbulb. I went to a store that only sold lights. The bulbs are more round than regular chandalier lightbulbs.

We are doing the 'oven' thing today - thanks for the advice. I don't think a chandelier bulb will work for you, CKay. They are rounder in nature - they're not a standard bulb.

JESW - We're doing our by printing my our computer onto the sheets. They look pretty good. Stamping sounds like a great idea also. I'm hoping this stupid toy works once we (or should I say, IF we) get the bulb. I get so annoyed with the shoddy way toys are made nowadays (Oh, God - I sound like my parents!)

Had a tough time finding this bulb, went to numerous stores with lots of purchasing and returning. Go to a lighting store, found mine at Lamps Plus. The bulb you need is a 60W A15 Bulb (small base candelabra) made for Ceiling Fan...mine was made by Sylvania, at Lamps Plus for $3.27....hope this helps people out, wish I knew this beforehand.
