Need a fun countdown idea...

I am looking for a fun, easy countdown to do with dd (5). Last time we went I used the paint chip cards from home depot. I just numbered the Mickey heads. Of course they don't seem to have the cards at our local store anymore so I am looking for some creative help.

Danicaca: I love your chain! Are there directions for making that somewhere? Do you take off just one link each day, or one set of three?

I did a countdown chain...actually 3 of them (one for me, one for mom and one for auntie if she goes). Your daughter's five? She can probably read some, or you could read the stuff written on the countdown chain to her. I'd send you mine but it's more suited to an adult because of the detail of the trivia and the vocabulary.
