Navigating the My Disney Experience (MDE) Web Site and App

Any new updates on being able to link an AP voucher to your MDX account?
 
Hi I don't know if this has been answered yet so here goes... when I look at my dining reservations I do not see the Hoop Dee Do or Mama Melrose Fantasmic dinner that I booked. When I put the confirmation numbers in to link them to my resort reservation, I get a message that tells me that those reservations are already linked?!?! I called Disney and they transferred me to 407-939-7765 for website problems, but I gave up after 45 min on hold...Any other DISers experience this?

We had problems with some of my ADR's not showing up on my MDE profile when we were there in February. They ended up being linked to our daughter's account, even though I made the reservation. When we showed up at the restaurant, the reservation was in her name.

But I was able to see all my ADR's when I went into the old Disney website. You can get there by got there by going to your MDE account and scrolling down to an option like Annual Passes. It will be on the old Disney website. Click on My Reservations at the top and you should be able to see all your reservations there.
 

I just noticed 2 fictitious names on my friends list. Not sure how they got added. The names read Dona Schmo and Joe Schmo. I was able to delete them from my profile. Has anyone else experienced this? :confused3

Not me. The only names in my Family & Friends list are those that I've added.

Can someone please help. I have two accounts for the same friend, however the one with the hotel reservation linked to it on my profile is not the one she is using! Is there anyway i can remove the hotel reservation from my account and start again? I tried to delete the profile my friend did not set up but it says i have to remove them from the plans first i cant see where to do this.

does the one that she is not using have an "invite" button - go ahead and invite her (use the email address she uses for the "good" account). when she accepts I believe it links together.

We had a similar problem with a DVC reservation- my immediate family and my sister's immediate family are all on one reservation. She was the first to 'link' it to her account. It created dummy profiles for everyone else besides her (8 other people). But when she 'invited' them it matched everything up.

ONE PROBLEM- my kids are on the reservation. Since some of them are under 13 they are not currently allowed their own accounts and are just people on my wifes account that she manages. There doesn't seem to be anyway to 'invite' over a kid to make it all link.

I think i get the joy of calling 407-939-7765 to work that out....

For those individuals that are managed by another MDE account, you can 'link' those to MDE account by using the 'Select From Mutual Friends' tab.
 
I just got a second generation Google Asus Nexus 7 tablet & I go to Google Play & it says MDE isn't compatible with my device. I did read however MDE can be sideloaded via having the APK file for it but two problems. I can't find the APK file & even if I could, I wouldn't know how to upload it to my device. Any one out there have any experience with dealing with this problem? If so then let me know how to upload the apk file if you can find it for me. I just want to be able to access MDE on all my devices so if you can help me, just let me know. TIA!


if you can google for the .apk file it's as simple as emailing it o yourself. You just click on the attachment and it will attempt to install. You have to change a default setting in android to allow 'side loading'- go to your settings, security, and check the box to 'allow installs from unknown sources' . MYSELF- I always remove the check when i'm done to keep things locked up.

the trick is finding a known good version of the apk from someplace you trust. Best way is if you have an android phone with it installed already. You can get a 'backup' or 'share' app from the google play store and then install that on the device with the known good app and then use that to email the file to yourself. Then you just open the email on the other device and click it as above.

Personally i use 'es file explorer' https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estrongs.android.pop&hl=en to 'backup' my apk's when i need to but it's a bit confusing so might not be the best place to start if you dont know about apk's and side loading already. I did a quick search on the play store and i found this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kayan.nurav.apkshare&hl=en looks simple enough- MIGHT be a good one to try.

did you call Disney to have them fix anything on the account? One time we called the guy let us know he was logging into our accounts to do stuff. So they do have that ability. Maybe they made fictitious people to work something out on your account?
 
I have an HTC T-Mobile G2 phone with Android 2.3.4, I know it's a little old but the My Disney Experience app is the only one that works REALLY slow on it.

Actually it used to work slow, since the last update it became completely unusable!!
It takes longer than before to start and once it does, 8 out of 10 times it is forced to close and gives me an Android error.

Am I alone here ? Is anyone else having this type of issues ?
Our trip starts in 3 weeks and it's really disappointing that we won't be able to use the app to check wait times, our ADR schedules, and everything else... :(

PS: sorry if this is not the right thread to talk about the app, but I couldn't find any other.

I downloaded the My Disney Experience app for a quick play- it looks great but loaded a bit slowly. Hopefully that was because it was using mobile internet data not wifi.

BTW, I have a Samsung phone so Android. I heard there was a few problems with that version.

can't speak to the force closes- but the app is slow as as dog no matter if you are at home on your own wifi, in the parks on their wifi, or on mobil data. The app is pathetic. I beta tested it at the beginning of the year during a vist and was candid with them about the issues making it almost unusable. They emailed me back and replied to each comment i made throughout the trip. I didn't touch the app again till this month and still, even though a newer version, it is slow as a dog. It's pathetic.

Not sure if the problem is the APP is slow or the database it is getting data from is dog slow. Either way it seems pretty obvious to me that they just need to cache some data like menus, show times, etc. and at least those bits would be faster.

well yes and no....

that works great if you do it up front BEFORE you do anything.

BUT...

Not when they already have reservations on both accounts- if you have reservations on both accounts and do an "invite" then it merges both.

But if you have the child already in your account and you can not "invite" them and you instead 'pull' them from a mutual friend it just creates duplicates. Both with the same name.

Basically my wife already has an MDE account with my under 13's as sub people on her account. I 'pulled' them over to my account and made a room reservation as well as several ADR's for December. The problem is we also had a DVC reservation (actually that backs up on our room reservation). That one, my sister 'linked' into her MDE account and Disney created sub-accounts for the other 8 people on the reservation. So now she too has my under 13's on her account as subs. There is no way to 'invite' them accross to combine them. On the accounts for the 13+ people that have their own- she just needed to 'invite' them and it combines the accounts. You can't invite under 13's so now there are duplicates i have to get combined somehow...

edit: just to add- it's DUMB that the first person to link the reservation over gets the kid's as their sub accounts. My sister shouldn't "own" my kids. taking away that we're the parents. we're much more likely to travel with them in the future than their aunt is...

Yes, I'm going in two weeks and I already gave up, I know that I won't be able to use it.
I'll use some of the unofficial apps for Wait Times and just take notes or print my reservations confirmations.

I'm "lucky" that I will stay at the All Star Movies and won't be part of the FP+ test, so I don't have to worry that I almost can't use the official app.

we're heading down the end of December/beginning of January. I assume the fastpass + will be live for all at that point so that's why i started futzing with it now. I hope to get it all straight before the 60 day out mark just in case I HAVE to make my fast passes in advance. (dont feel comfy that if most people are doing then at 60 days out that we'll be able to get what we want when we get there)

(and assume I might need the app to change things on the fly)
 
BTW- I think a major ROOT to many of these problems is Disney is stupid and is not properly combining multiple instances of the same person. Nor do they explain properly how they expect people to use the system so many users make mistakes and wind up with multiple versions of the same 'person' and then the various things are all linked to these 'different' people.

what's worse is there systems dont seem to be set up properly to quickly combine things or correct them instead the case members make poor workarounds like make people 'friend' the other versions of themselves, or my favorite- delete entire reservations and rebook them to fix MDE.
 
I linked mine as well. I'm not too sure how that works. I'll take the tickets anyways just in case.

I linked mine party tickets to the MDE and my tickets are will call..

From what I understand, you can link your MNSSHP/MVMCP tickets to your MDE, but that info will not appear anywhere on your Magic Bands, although that is something they are working toward in the future, just like the PP+.

Sorry, this has likely been answered here before. I did search the thread without getting a hit though. Is there a way to view cancelled reservations? MDE wants to attempt to link it but then says the number can't be found (well, ok, it is supposedly cancelled so it makes sense). However, I never received a cancellation email nor have I received my deposit back so, other than MDE not being able to find it, I have no actual confirmation that it IS cancelled. Is there any kind of workaround on the site to view it, just to make sure? Thanks.
 
Hi guys..couple of questions

My name is listed twice in MDE, is it i because I edited it to correct a missing hypen? It now shows my corrected name and the incorrect one. For the incorrect name it says not eligible for mymagic+ or something like that
.
I tried to delete the inncorrect name however it says this person has a existing reservation but I can't find what that reservation is?? It appears everything is under my corrected name. Do I need to be worried about anything here?


I have booked all the fast passes by clicking on my corrected version of my name..so hopefully I did that right??? Also I have booked fast passes for another party linked to us thru MDE. For one member of the other party her fast passes don't show up when I go to view all of the reservations..but if I look at her individually I can see them. Is this just a glitch? I hate for her to arrive and then not have fp's with rest of us!
 
My daughter did our fast pass + today, and since we have two rooms was trying to link them together. It wound up deleting her Dad and adding her twice. It says I have two adults and two kids in my room, but three tickets. She has four adults and five tickets. The lady on the phone couldn't figure it out, but had to contact someone who could help her. Waiting for an email that they figured it out.

Earlier in our reservations, we had to change hotels to take advantage of the free dining. I was waiting for my room to say $0. on the balance. I called to check finally. My payment went to my cancelled room (??) Had to keep checking back to see if it was resolved.

I really don't understand how a place like Disney can have such a problem with their website.

Still excited to go though!!
