Navigating the My Disney Experience (MDE) Web Site and App

Can someone tell me if there is more than one Disney World Web site? I found one yesterday and it let me log into it with my regular Disney password but it was different than the normal Disney site that I usually go to. It gave me way more information about my trip details and I can't seem to find the site again. HELP! I really liked the site.

You were probably in the My Disney Experience part of the site. If you go to www.waltdisneyworld.com, on the upper right click on My Disney Experience.

That's what I thought to but when I go to the Disney site today it looks completely different and told way more information about my trip. But now I can't find it. But thanks for trying to help.:)

The site looks the same to me as it has for months, except they changed the slides for the fall season events...

No, but someone just informed me that I probably got lucky and logged into the old Disney website which was way more informative. I wish i could find it again. It was great.

You may want to check your browser history and see if you can locate it again. If you do, please post it here. Thanks!

I downloaded the My Disney Experience app for a quick play- it looks great but loaded a bit slowly. Hopefully that was because it was using mobile internet data not wifi.

BTW, I have a Samsung phone so Android. I heard there was a few problems with that version.

Okay. I checked my browser and and the Disney stuff comes up as the regular Disney site. This is bothering me so bad so I called Disney and the CM told me that for some reason sometimes the old site pops up but not very often. Doesn't make any sense to me. I sure wish they would bring the old site back. The old site would let you modify also. I wonder why they changed it.

Nope. It's just slow. :(

There are plenty of problems, not limited to Android.

Modify what exactly? The old site didn't really have much about your existing reservations, tickets, etc.

To me the app and the website provide two different functions. The app is definitely more fun to look at with the maps, descriptions of attractions, wait times.

Neither one does a very good job with keeping track of reservations. I have about 20 food and wine confirmation numbers, they show up in a wide range of places, but not all in the same place. Luckily, I recorded them all in an excel spreadsheet.

It's nice to know I'm not the only one that uses Excel to plan and track my Food & Wine reservations! All of my reservation numbers (only eight:goodvibes) show up under My Reservations, View All. I'm disappointed tour reservations are not included in MDE. Kind of an important reservation, especially for planning purposes...:(

I found the MDE Android app and iPad app are slightly different as well. I like that the itinerary can include shows/events that do not require reservations, and are displayed on the map for route planning. I'm a little frustrated my Family&Friends, who have MDE accounts, show up with the default avatar, not the character they chose.:sad2:

Overall, love the MDE, and can't wait for the 'check in' option to appear in five days!

I use Excel to plan our days/meals. I use it to track which parks, which days, crowd levels from Touringplans.com and best/avoid park recommendations. I love it for a "one stop" visual tool, I can see the entire trip at one glance...but I can see the MDE app making my spreadsheet obsolete in the near future.

One of my biggest gripes, is, you can't add everything to your itinerary. Like our tickets to MVMCP, or our BBB time. Those are things I'd like to ALSO see in my daily plan, but I just added them as notes. I just wish you could add ANYTHING to your itinerary with a note that was meaningful to you, instead of just what Disney thinks you might want/like to add.

I should probably wade through this whole thread to get my answer, but I have a question. Not all of my dining reservations are showing up in the MDE screen, even the ones that I made through the website. When I try to link the reservations using the reservation number and my last name, I get the following error message: Error: Enter the last name used when booking this reservation. If you do not know the name, please call (407) 939-1947 for assistance. Umm, my last name has not change for the last 21 years. It is a common one, however. Luckily I have The Spreadsheet to keep track of everything, but it would be nice if this actually worked.

Didn't want to start a new thread for this:

Can anyone tell me (screenshot maybe?) if the MDE site gives any indication of:
1) If you have an expired/used ticket attached to your account (does it say "expired" or "invalid" or whatever)
2) If it tells you how many days are left on a partially used ticket

nope, I attached an older ticket that had one day and the only way I could tell it had 1 day left was it only let me make 1 days worth of FP+

We're arriving Dec 31 and staying 'til Jan 9 2014 at Pop Century. My DH set up the My Disney Experience and invited the rest of the family. So I added 2 DS's and myself. Everyone shows up on my Ipad app (with the proper information, avatars, ages, etc.) and he gave me his full permissions when he sent me the invite. All the ADR's and parks/day show up. I then tried to add parades, fireworks, experiences to the daily itinerary. Nothing shows up when I try to add it. Am I doing something wrong? Also - probably won't get daily schedules for things like Jammitors or EPCOT country-specific entertainment until much closer to trip - right? Again - so many apologies if this has already been answered - I'm just barely learning my way around the DIS boards. Thank-you!! -Sharon :confused3

I can't say why you aren't seeing things in your itinerary, but keep in mind it's not a big deal. They aren't reservations but more just advisory for you to know what time things are at that day, and you'd be able to see them in the mobile app while in the parks.

There are various bugs they are still working out, so you have plenty of time before it becomes relevant.

Things that have performers, like Jammitors, etc. generally aren't scheduled until much closer to the dates in question - like the week before.
