Navigating the My Disney Experience (MDE) Web Site and App

We have just returned late last night. If your trip is in the near future I would recommend strongly AGAINST linking an annual pass with the MB. The systems are not set up correctly yet, and you can encounter some serious glitches. We ended up having to go to guest relations every day for our first 4 days for over an hour each time trying to sort it all out. In the end, it was never quite correctly fixed, but we could live with it the way it was.

You can encounter serious glitches whether you have an AP or not. But if you don't link your APs, you won't be able to make FP+ selections, as it requires a ticket be linked.

And we've had reports from AP holders that did not have any glitches, so it would seem it is not an AP specific problem.

This is all very true. None the less, I was specifically told that the system is not yet correctly interfacing with AP's and is not yet meant to be used with them. Why they thought AP holders wouldn't want to be using them by now is beyond me! :)

Disney knew some of the guests that would be using the system were AP holders. I doubt very much any statement from a front-line CM that says it wasn't yet meant to be used with them...they've had AP holders in mind from the start.

Otherwise they could have excluded AP holders from the tests.

I have the Ny Disney Experience on three devices...my laptop, my iPad and my iPhone. The only problem is that our tickets are not linked to the iPhone only, the only device I plan on bringing to the park with me! When I attempted to link them, it said, "these cards have already been linked to another customer" (Duh!-That's me!). Lol. How much of a problem is this and should I put a lot of energy into fixing it if the Magic Band is already going to have all this?

I have a similar problem - our tickets show up no problem on the website, but not on my phone. Since we have a package booked (and no actual physical tickets with associated numbers at this point) I can't link them in the app (our resort reservation and MB's are showing up).

With the website the tickets just automatically showed up. Not so with the app. I'm hoping our FP+'s appear once they're booked (our 60 days is tomorrow) but am concerned if the app isn't seeing our tickets it won't see our FP+s. I would like to be able to adjust things in the parks if need be.

Any suggestions? Last week I could see the tickets, but not our resort reservation, so I uninstalled/reinstalled the app. Now I have the opposite problem! :sad2:

Check to make sure that you are logged in with the same account on all devices. I've heard stories of people having multiple MDE accounts and not even knowing about it.

I have a package also, and my tickets never appeared on MDE app, still don't. They never appeared as separate tickets on the webpage either. But I was able to make my FP+ selections on the computer, where I think it is easiest to do anyway, and they did appear in my MDE app. (iPad and Android phone). I am able to modify them in the apps as well, but am not going to attempt that until I'm at DW (32 days!).

Mine's definitely the same account.

Thanks! I'll just let it be then. With the issues some people have been having I want to mess around with things as little as possible. I plan on doing everything on the computer and then just using the app as back up on our trip.

(I'm sure the next 32 days will go quickly for you! 61 here - a surprise for the kids - DH & I might burst by then keeping it to ourselves!)

So on the MDE for iPhone app I am looking at the friends and family page and you can see the cards or magic bands but there is no place to see this for myself. Any help?

Under my cards and MB you should see yours

Yours will be under 'MagicBands & Cards'.

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

I don't see that for myself. It is not in my profile??

Do you currently have a MagicBand or have an open order for one? If not, you will not have the 'MagicBands & Cards' option in the MDE app. You will have a 'Manage MagicBands' option (will say 'Personalize MagicBands' while you have an open order) on the MDE website that will show you any MagicBands and/or RFID cards that are attached to your profile.

I have a reservation for next February and when I go to my family and friends' pages I can see the magicbands and cards page but they only have cards on them currently but I can't even see a card for me unless I go to the actual website. Nowhere to be found in the app.

I don't have time to read this entire thread, so hoping somebody can help me.

I booked my room only reservation (with a CM F&F discount), today I JUST added my dining plan and park tickets. I had made ADR's online through MDE prior to adding the DDP.

I received my reservation update that shows the DDP, but I don't see it in MDE at all. Should I see it listed? DO I need to do anything to my ADR's now that I have a dining plan?

I don't know if anyone has experienced this (this is a super long thread and I simply can't read the whole thing!), but I have a glitch with MDE involving my linked reservation through Expedia. I booked my Poly reservation for 10/24-10/29 through Expedia, and then linked that reservation with MDE. However, MDE is showing that I should be checking out of Poly BOTH on 10/28 and 10/29. I only discovered this when I tried to book a FastPass for 10/28, and the system wouldn't let me. I called Disney, and the woman on the phone insisted there was nothing they could do to help me because they can't see Expedia reservations in their system. I have double checked my reservation with Expedia, and it is correctly booked for 10/24-10/29.

It should also be noted that I linked my 5-day park hopper tickets for me and my husband from Undercover Tourist, but those tickets were a deal of buy 4 days, get one free, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

I just found Disney's customer service to be completely unhelpful, so I thought I'd try this thread. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

How did you link your Expedia reservation? You must have the 12 digit Disney reservation number, so I'm puzzled why they can't view the reservation.

Not an issue. You have 5-day park hoppers. The "buy X get Y free" is marketspeak for a discount that happened to be the amount of one extra day.

I'd try and call again. Play CM roulette :)

Thank you so very much for confirming that I'm not crazy! That's exactly what I said to the CM, and she said "No, if you have a reservation made with a travel site, we can't see it." I will try again. Thank you!

NO EXPERT HERE- lol.

but I have a Disney reservation for later in December and every page of my itinerary says "check out by 11" is that what you are seeing?

the giant tickets thread seems to indicate that a 4+1 ticket is plainly just marketing and to Disney's system is it a 5 day ticket period.

You say 10/24 to 10/29. When I count on my fingers that's 6 days. Yet you have a 5 day ticket. You didn't book any FP's on the 24th did ya?

it should let you make a fastpass on your checkout day anyway as long as you had enough days of tickets, so not allowing 10.28 wouldn't have anything to do with it showing you as checking out that day anyway as near as i can tell.

If you can't figure it out you're going to need to read one of these giant thread to get the phone number for Disney IT. They can log in to your account and look at exactly what you would see (I've had them ask me- is it OK is I log on to your account to look at it?)- so they can see what you do and let you know if that is wrong.

also - seems certain days have had issues at times- probably you should read the October thread to see if the day you are having problems with is common issue.
