Since Disney will rent you a kayak at Castaway Cay for $24, what type of nature walk at Lighthouse Point is worth $60?

Really?

I glad to hear that. But I am really wondering, (for our groups interest) is it even going to be worth getting off the ship at Lookout Cay? (It has to be, right)The nature walk at LC is amazing - especially if you go to the beach with the rocks. We have thoroughly enjoyed our two days there and can’t wait to go again.

Right, but I am subtracting the $24 for the kayak.*$84
Ah gotcha. But that’s bonkers!Right, but I am subtracting the $24 for the kayak.
I know. I wish they would rent the kayak separately for $24. They dont even rent out floats at LP.Ah gotcha. But that’s bonkers!
Yes. We prefer LC to CC now. We have probably been to CC 25+ times. It is a half day for us, at most. On LC, we stayed the whole entire day and enjoyed every minute of it. And can’t wait to go back. The beach and water were so much better than CC - to us.I glad to hear that. But I am really wondering, (for our groups interest) is it even going to be worth getting off the ship at Lookout Cay? They should charge as much as people are willing pay.Ah gotcha. But that’s bonkers!
I've done Lookout twice. Once early after it opened in July, and once unplanned in February (Treasure added Lookout when San Juan was not available for our cruise.)I glad to hear that. But I am really wondering, (for our groups interest) is it even going to be worth getting off the ship at Lookout Cay? (It has to be, right)
The "Nature Walk and Kayak" at LP is more than simply renting a kayak on your own and doing the nature walk on your own. It's a guided tour, includes the nature walk, tandem kayaking, snorkeling. As someone else mentions, it's 2 hours vs the 30-minute kayak rental at CC.
I think it comes down to whether you prefer to DIY or have a guide.
Good point that it's a different location. At least at CC, you couldn't DIY because the area we kayaked as part of the excursion was off limits to other guests.
Correct. They don't even rent floats or such on LP. I am sure LP will be a half day island for us, and that is ok.Good point that it's a different location.
CC -- you can just rent a kayak but I think you have to stay within a specified area
LP -- you can't rent a kayak except as part of either the nature walk or a fishing excursion, both guided
Glad to hear you liked the excursion, we had it booked on our Treasure cruise in March but the winds were too high so it was cancelled. It wasn’t guaranteed that we were going to be able to dock at CC. I have it booked again for our Destiny spring break cruise so hopefully we can experience it this time. We have been to CC a bunch so I liked that it explores a part of the island that we haven’t been. We aren’t bake on the beach people either. We did the nature walk/kayak but on CC and it was the same cost I believe. It was well worth it for us, we learned a lot about the native vegetation on the walk, and during the kayak, the guide found starfish, sea cucumbers, sea slugs, and we were able to hold all of those. None of us are 'sit on a beach ' kind of people, so this activity is what made CC enjoyable for us.
You sound like you have already made up your mind. I would encourage you to go in with an open mind. LC is very different from CC, so if you go in expecting Castaway Cay 2.0, you will likely be disappointed. If you go in knowing Lookout Cay is different but still has a lot to offer, you might be surprised.I am sure LP will be a half day island for us, and that is ok.
