Nature walk for $60! 🙄🙄🙄

The nature walk at LC is amazing - especially if you go to the beach with the rocks. We have thoroughly enjoyed our two days there and can’t wait to go again.

I glad to hear that. But I am really wondering, (for our groups interest) is it even going to be worth getting off the ship at Lookout Cay? (It has to be, right)

Yes. We prefer LC to CC now. We have probably been to CC 25+ times. It is a half day for us, at most. On LC, we stayed the whole entire day and enjoyed every minute of it. And can’t wait to go back. The beach and water were so much better than CC - to us.

The main difference is the regular rentals are 30 minutes, located area where the ship docks. The walk/kayak is 3.5 hours, up near serenity bay. If look on google maps, follow the roadway from serenity to its end & will see the beach area with kayaks. That’s the water area for that guided activity.

We did the nature walk/kayak but on CC and it was the same cost I believe. It was well worth it for us, we learned a lot about the native vegetation on the walk, and during the kayak, the guide found starfish, sea cucumbers, sea slugs, and we were able to hold all of those. None of us are 'sit on a beach ' kind of people, so this activity is what made CC enjoyable for us.

On Lookout, there is a beach area they use, down from the lighthouse. To see that spot, follow the shoreline, on google maps from the family cabana shore to the lighthouse hill. It’s the water there on west side of that hill.

Getting off at Lookout is totally worth it. Exploring the trails to the lighthouse or the shoreline beach and hill area, on that east side is very scenic.

I've done Lookout twice. Once early after it opened in July, and once unplanned in February (Treasure added Lookout when San Juan was not available for our cruise.)

I liked it when we did July even though it was HOT and not everything was up and running. That said, it wasn't high on my return list after the first trip. I loved it in February. Without the intense heat it was an absolutely beautiful place to explore. I think I prefer it now to Castaway; the food is more to my liking and the ocean is more like what I grew up going to on the east coast. I am sure many will prefer the tranquil water of Castaway, but I liked being able to swim among the waves.

That said, do you need to spend the money for the nature walk? Probably not; you could do almost all of that walking around the island yourself and following the signs to things you want to see.

The "Nature Walk and Kayak" at LP is more than simply renting a kayak on your own and doing the nature walk on your own. It's a guided tour, includes the nature walk, tandem kayaking, snorkeling. As someone else mentions, it's 2 hours vs the 30-minute kayak rental at CC.

I think it comes down to whether you prefer to DIY or have a guide.
