Nationals Rates Jumped Today

This morning I rebooked our Intermediate Car with National, the rate had dropped to $195.78 for our stay of Sept 4-12th. This was using the Priceless Code and an Entertainment Book $20 coupon..

This evening I came home to check the rate to see if MAYBE it had falled any further..which the rates have been known to do in a few hours time....I got a big shock..the rate for the car, using my same Priceless Code and the Entertainment book $20 off coupon is now $297..over $100 higher than this morning.

If you have a September reservation with National you might want to check to see if it has gone way up to suddenly...I was hoping for it to start dropping soon...

Yep, it jumped all right. Went from 178.13 to 268.77 for 8 days full size rental. This is Sept. reservation using priceless code and entertainment coupon.

Thanks Gail for confirming it was not just me..I am so glad I changed my reservation this morning when it was low, just saved a couple of dollars..these new rates are outrageous...

Yes, yes they are. I looked at Avis and their rate is about 12.00 more than my National rate, sooooo, I might just go with them.

Boy did it ever! I have a Inetrmediate, EA reservation for Aug 25-Aug 30 at $124 using the ENT Coupon and Carlson Code. I have been trying to get it there by switching to the priceless code for peace of mind. Yesterday, the rate switching to priceless was $138, today $217!

I will keep checking with all companies as I am not married to National. If the Hertz rate drops, (over $200 as well) I will jump as I thought they were excellent last year.

I don't think this is unusual for a holiday weekend. We had the same thing happen last year when we rented for the weekend after Thanksgiving. Fortunately we made a reservation before the rates got truly outrageous. But when bookings get close to capacity, the rates really go up!
