Is it worth buying the Entertainment Book for the National rates and coupons? Are the National coupons in the book better than the coupons and contract id's you see on Mousesavers?

I just bought the Entertainment book because the coupons gave me the best rate on my upcoming June trip. I bought it via the link on Mousesavers for a total of $15.00 including the shipping. The 1 day free coupon took $35.00 off my SUV rental. Since my trip is only for Mon-Fri none of the National coupons really worked. Other plus is that the coupons are good until June 2008 and I have 2 more trips planned in that time frame.I think it depends on your trip details and
what vehicle you are renting. Hope this helps......

Thank you!

I noticed on the National site that there are a few boxes to enter coupon codes. Can you use more than one coupon code per reservation? I tried 2 coupon codes but got a message saying they would not work with eachother.

I have never been able to use 2 coupons on National but I do change the contract ID and generally the Emerald Club ID gives the best discount. AAA also gives a good rate but many times when you go the end page of the reservation process the best final rate is with the Emerald Club. I'm a little nuts (like many here) and check my rates daily. On my last trip it started in the $300 range for 12 days for an Intermediate....final price was $200. Also depending on how soon you are going the Entertainment book took a couple of weeks to arrive.

Can somebody please pm me the codes for National anything that can be used for a minivan. I am using it for 2 weeks. I'm looking to see if I'll get better rates before I purchase it.

Thank you,

MMCD

OK, hoping someone here can help me. Now that the entertainment book is 7.99 I was thinking of getting one to use the National Coupons for a car rental, but I can't find on their site which books actually have the coupons in them. Do all the entertainment books have coupons for National? Do I need to order a US book or will the Canadian one have the coupons in it as well?

Interesting. I actually found that I get a better base rate with the AAA ID. The Emerald Club ID keeps coming out slightly higher. I'm also one to check and recheck and try various combinations of codes and ID's, so maybe as it gets closer to our dates, the EC id will look better.

Yep - just checked again with the AAA ID vs. EC ID and it was $216 with AAA and $275 with EC.

Where is this Entertainment Book sold?

Online at Entertainment.com

Or you could buy it through MyPoints.com (I think you get about 750 points when you buy the book) and sometimes, local groups sell them as a fundraiser.

You don't have to actually wait for the book to come in the mail. The coupons are available to print out on the website once you subscribe and log in.
