National rates down again for end April/beg May

I know, I need to get a life....

NOOOOOOOOOOOO1 Please don't get a life! I am sure that I am not the only one that depends on you and others like to you to find these great deals.
My rate for a week in a full size went down by $3!

hi Crzykid -- I know you must be looking forward to getting away from the the snow and ice as much as I am.

The contract ID I used was 5007125, the one for Emerald Club members and the $40.00 off code for SUV and minivans. Try that out and see what you get. My rate yesterday was $174

There's been yet another drop this afternoon!! My rate is still holding on at $243 for 2 weeks EA, but I've been watching for my friend who arrives a week after I do. Last week she was at $151 for a one week rental EA, but just now I checked and her rate dropped to $121, using 5007125 and ND1833JJF. That is amazing for one week after all taxes and fees for EA. Wow, so early May folks need to recheck!

Another DROP. While my rate is still holding at $243, my friend's rate dropped again this morning. She was at $121 and now it's $114. Her dates are May 4-11 and is for a 1 week rental EA. So time to recheck if you are an early May person. (I arrive April 29, so no change for me, but I still have 2 weeks left.) Now I need to email her, since I told you guys first.

As soon as I read this last post, I opened another window for National's website, entered corp. id 5001725 and Coupon code ND1833JJF and didn't get anything below $224 for an intermediate (the cheapest catagory that accepts the coupon code) inc. taxes and fees...the base rate is $171.

What's going on? Should I clear my cookies or something and try the codes again?!?!

I have read here that that can sometimes be the problem. Clear your national.com cookie.

Not sure what's going on because I crunched your numbers (May 13 @ 1P to May 21 @7P) and I get a total of $196 for a mid-size SUV. That is using the codes you have above. Why did I get a such a good deal for a bigger car than you. Did you dump your cookies?

I see, I did use the right codes, but had clicked the standard SUV instead of the midsize, which oddly IS less money. The $196 is better, but I do have $189 with Dollar. Last year, we had the same dates/times and it was $141 through National...guess I keep hoping!

Guess you can't use the $40 coupon because of the 5 day minimum. Did you try both 5007125 or 5042947. Didn't they have another coupon on the last EA email for smaller stays?

Can't use the $40. the rental is too short. So I am using the Ent. free weekend day, which takes off about $31. I have about 8 contract # and the 5007125 brings it down to $119. for the 4 days.
Now If I were renting for 5 days, the rate would be $100.

I crunched your numbers but I can't even get the rate you have. Considering that you have a 2 week reservation for a minivan, you are paying about $200 a week after taxes which is pretty good for a minivan. Unless you drop to a SUV I think that might be the best you will get, but hope I'm wrong.

D'oh!! I goofed - actually need it for April 28th.

The lowest I can get on Alamo is $545 taxes and additional driver included.

I will have 5 adults with luggage so the SUV is out :-(

OK , are you staying on site? Can you use 2 cars to get the luggage and the people to the resort and then use one car for the week? How about ME to get some of the people and luggage to the resort? That is a lot of money for a rental that will sit most of the time.
