Hi! I just subbed- I'm a friend of Rosie's. Wanted to say congratulations on your DVC!!! Isn't it SUCH a great feeling??? I am STILL excited about it and we bought AKV in 2007! Are you going to be at Jambo or Kidani when you go in June? We just had our first Kidani stay this past November, it was WONDERFUL, and we are going to stay Concierge (DH & I) in September (which I have been lucky enough to have done once already, last May, with the DISmoms- that's when I met our friend Rosie). I LOVE those AKV points!!

Oh- and the people behind you in line?

PIGS. Total jerks! I am ashamed of them and i don't even know who they are!

I have an announcement to make!!!! I was going to wait until I get to this part on my TR but we didn't take the tour until our 2nd to last day. So, it would take a while and I'm bursting at the seams to tell you that.........










WE ARE NOW DVC OWNERS!!!!!!!


After much thought, we decided to buy 160 points at Animal Kingdom Villas.

We may add more points later. But for now they matched our points for this year and we also got $15 off per point. It was a deal we just couldn't pass up. I must say it feels awesome to be "in the club". Hopefully we will get our 1st trip booked soon. I'm waiting for our package to arrive to get all the technical stuff done but I think we may be going back this summer. We will get to try out our home resort at AKV with a savannah view! Soooo.....who else is going in June????

We even met a NEW Diser one morning at DHS....."Mytallula". She was very sweet and she informed us that she saw mine and Winkers "dance pictures" on Jordan's PTR. I think I felt myself blush a little.

Awww it was fun meeting you guys that morning!! I don't think my DH really believed me when I said "Hey I know those guys, lets go say Hi!"

Congratulations on the DVC purchase, now that is really exciting!!! Great start to your TR too! We just got home yesterday afternoon. I'm still doing Depressing Dirty Disney Laundry "DDDL" for short.

Oh the cat thing is a mini nightmare and I feel horrible that we didn't catch it earlier. He's a picky eater, has been on the same food forever. About a week ago I noticed he was losing fur. A couple of other things had been happening so I decided to take him in.

He's been chewing it off! He hadn't lost weight like we thought, just enough fur chewed off to make him look a lot smaller than he is. Apparently either due to some skin irritation, most likely an allergy or it's psychological (which we don't think it is). Vet thought it was definitely an allergy of some sort. Vet asked about diet changes right away and I'm like, no, none.

Got home realized they'd changed the packaging on his food 2 months ago. Sure enough, "new" formula has wheat and soy, old one did not.

If your DS still fits in the seat then go for it, we did as long as we could. We had one of the boosters that had a back on it and had the back on for a long time before we went to just the booster.

So I've been boning up on cat food all week and testing grain free options.

OMG, your poor cat!! I hope the grain free stuff works. Poor thing must have been itching like crazy. It's funny but not funny at the same time.

I'm in!! I'm subbing too. That is awesome that you guys are DVC owners....i'm still trying to con my husband into saying yes to this. I might have to get some pointers on what you did to get your husband to say yes!!

I've been talking on and off to my DH about it for about 3 years. I couldn't really make the numbers work for us but that's also because we were taking 2 large vacations a year. The cost of dues/taxes plus food, plane tickets, etc just didn't add up to the amount of points we could afford to buy. I finally had to realize that we don't NEED to take 2 WDW trips a year. If it happens then that's WONDERFUL but I need to be more realistic. So when I ran the numbers past him it changed things quite a bit. PLUS, we took the tour this trip. I think the tour is what REALLY got DH on board. He really liked seeing all the rooms at the different resorts. I think seeing it all in person really helped. GOOD LUCK!!

Congrats on your DVC purchase! I bet this will make it much easier to eat on vacation with your sons allergies.

Since you have extra points this year, you should think about a quick weekend trip in October, say the weekend of the 23rd for Ip Dip . It would be wonderful to get to meet you.

Oh let me tell you.....when they said "welcome home" my first thought was IP-DIP!!! But there is no way we can make those dates work. DH can't get off and DS will be in school. Really bummed out. But I saw that you and Bill were going before that and I got excited again. Then I realized we can't go then either. I actually had a dream last night that we were walking down a hallway somewhere at WDW (have no idea where) and turned a corner and ran into you and Bill. It was GREAT!!! Big hugs all around. I have faith that our paths will cross one day soon.

You are most welcome. I think you made a good choice. I understand the thinking of going after the home resort with the lower maint. fees, but most people recommend buying where you want to stay, and I think it makes sense.

We'll be there June 12 - 20, and would love to meet up with you folks if the timing works out. FauntleroyFan07 (Dan) will be there starting a few days before that and then leaving around the 18th, I think. We're going to meet up with him and his wife at the Yehaa Bob Jackson show at POR on the 12th.

I couldn't stand it anymore. I had to spill the beans!! I wanted to put one of those pretty banners in my siggie too.

We are very happy with the choice we made. Thanks for all the info. I agree, it feels better knowing our home resort is one that we will stay at more often and one we REALLY like.

I KNEW THERE WAS PEOPLE ON HERE GOING IN JUNE!!!!!! Everything has just been so crazy I couldn't remember who's PTR's I had read it on. That's awesome!! We are going to book June 13-19! So we will be there the same time as your family and Fauntleroy's family. Oh I wish we could do the Yehaa Bob Jackson show with you guys. But our arrival day is the 13th. We've wanted to catch this show ever since we caught the last 2 minutes of it on our last night at POR in 2008.

JORDAN!!!!! We miss you too!! It's funny about going with friends who live all over the country. When we got home we now feel like something is missing. It took me a couple of days to realize that I probably shouldn't text any of you and tell you where we are and what we are doing.

Yes, we MUST all do a trip together again soon. I'm dying to know what changes you've made to Peepfest. Is it still in the summer??? Depending on the dates, we're still not sure if we will be doing the land portion or the sea portion. Even if we do the sea portion, we will still add a day or 2 of land first.

I gotta leave for church, but I've been thinking about keeping it in June, but perhaps a short weekend Peepfest at some other time like in Feb....or fall....it kinda depends on people's schedules.

Well, keep us updated when you can! Depending on when in Feb or fall, we MAY be able to make it work. I don't really see another Feb trip but then again I didn't see one for this year either. You just never know what doors will open up and when.

We will see, he's being a good sport about trying the samples but he definitely likes the stuff that still has rice and oats in it over the full grain free and I really need him to have a weight management version so I think we will go with one that is wheat and soy free and hopefully that will take care of it. Funny thing is it is $10 less a bag than what I was buying! Go figure. Guess he isn't as picky as I thought or he realizes that food was hurting him. Vet said it will take 6-8 weeks to see if fur is growing back

I need to get Jeff on a DVC tour this summer! We are on the every 2 year plan so I think 150 points would work for us and is doable...next year I hope!

I'd LOVE for our family to be DVC memebers...but it most likely won't happen for another 3-5 years (too much debt to get paid off first).
