National codes..AAA *may be good minivan rate..check the rules*5/19 update*

I called the Emerald Club line and spoke with Edwin, gave him the Reservation for a Trip to Mobile AL and he said all set. Minivan is all set no problem with reservation just bring it down with coupon. Let here from some folks that are able to try it in person and see how that goes. I saved my other res just in case

I called also and asked several times for reassurance that it would work and would not be a problem when i picked up my car at the dolphin. I explained to her that the coupon did not say for an upgrade from a full size. The gal checked twice for me and said it absolutely would not be a problem and that a minivan would be there for me at the price on my reservation. I am going to trust that it works but we do not go until July so I would be anxious to hear if someone else does this successfully (keeping my fingers crossed and still hanging on to my other reservation).

Maybe check the rates again, mine dropped about 2 bucks. :thumbsup2

As for membership, I am not really sure, you might give National a call. I will say that from all my reading here over the years, I have never heard of any validation required for any code, however, I don;t make the rules.

And welcome to the DIS, disneymom72.

Mary's site here, http://www.mousesavers.com/national.html#codes is about the last word in deal getting at WDW.

Whoops. Just checked my paperwork. The total is actually $89.03, didnt want to give the wrong impression that I was only paying $89...lol

Brutie-
Wondering what your dates are for the $89! I have Emerald Club & using a $20 coupon, but still can't get a week for less than $177?

Thanks
Jen

I just checked again to see if my rate had changed and these codes no longer show the coupon working for a minivan. When I click on full size, it says the coupon can not be applied. I am hoping that those of us who already made the reservation will still get the deal. I am going to call again tomorrow and check.
I still haven't cancelled my reservation with Alamo. I can't help worrying that national won't honor my reservation. I guess I will follow Dan's advice and make sure that I get a name and time etc if they tell me again that they will honor it.

I just tried as well and it worked for me. I booked a 7 passenger minivan (upgrading from a full size). I will be picking the van up on Friday May 26 so I will post and let everyone know if there are any probs using the coupon. I hope it works out!!!

i modified my reservation using 5766241 and 10009416 to upgrade from compact to full side for 3 days. One thing I noticed is that I got loss damage waiver full included in my 3 day rental. My rental period is 8/14 to 8/17/06. It was $130.72 for 3 full days. If I used 6100120 it was $116.51 without insurance. I'll still be checking as my trip gets closer.

If you join the Emerald Club at National which is now free to join, you will only have to rent at least an intermediate size and then once you arrive you can take anything out there that they have.

sounds good, but would you please explain this to me? i thought you just picked from your classification's aisle, not from anything in the lot. are you saying you can reserve an intermediate and walk away with a minivan??

When I clicked on the link that gives info about the contract id 5766241 this is what it says about mileage:

MILEAGE: Includes UNLIMITED free mileage (EXCEPTION: Van rate includes 150 miles/day, 825/week, then $.30/mile). Unlimited Mileage One way rates for car classes Economy through Fullsize are charged $79.00 per day. (Area differentials will apply.) Cars larger than Fullsize are charged the Local Daily Rate plus $.30 per mile from mile one. Some promotional and one way rates may include a mileage cap.

Does this mean if I was upgraded to the minivan it is NOT unlimited mileage??? My receipt says Unlimited Free Mileage.

from the link posted above ....this is some pertinent information.....

I am glad the code is still working for others. For some reason, it won't work for me now but we are driving one way from DW to Washington DC so that might be why. It is not even showing a minivan as an option at any price. I am glad I already booked it! disneymom I will be anxious to hear if it works for you. thanks for letting us know.

Yes. When you get to the car selection, select the full size. It will come back with the minivan, in the one I just tried, gave me a Chevy Uplander minivan, 8 days, end of May, $174.
I just rechecked my reservaton as I am leaving next week. I do not need a minivan, but did recheck for those who might, that 8 day is now $158, total. Maybe give it a look again for your dates. Just an FYI.

I have also been checking on the prices and I can't get anything less than my original price, which is $305 for a minivan (upgraded from the full size) from May 26 - June 3. Maybe b/c it's over the Memorial Day holiday?

I put those codes in (from OP), disneymom72, for early 5/26 to late 6/3 (8 days), and get $204.19 total, full size upgraded to Uplander mini.

I guess it has to do with where we are (Mississippi). Other than that, I don't know why you would be getting a different rate.... I wish I could get your rate!!!

We are off to a wedding in Mobile in July. The 10009416 works fine, Yes Mobile in July 10000 degrees
