Great! I'm a little concerned that I'll get a gas guzzler, LOL!

I called my location and he told me they have Buick Terrazas, Uplanders, and Dodge Caravans. I hope I have a choice on my day!

I was on the MiniVan Aisle in April. There were TONS of Dodge Grand Caravan's, a handfull of Pontiac Montana SV6's and a few Chevrolet Uplanders. We took a white Grand Caravan and it worked out well for us!

Well no matter what I input for 8/19 - 8/31 I am unable to beat Alamo's rate of $450 :( for a minivan....but thanks for posting!!

Quick question: Is this a 2 car upgrade from the car I choose or the upgrade to the car I chose.

TK: I picked a Full and was upgraded to a minivan.

Thanks! I'm driving mine from Atlanta to Orlando. Does anyone know how the gas mileage is on these vehicles? I drove a Pontiac Vibe last time and the MPG was awesome!

If you drive 75 mph, i would say probibly in the area of 22-25 mpg. Not too bad for a large vehicle, but not that good ;)

I just tried to check my rate again to see if it went down and it would not let me use the coupon for the full size to get a mini van.. I hope this is just a glitch. I used amex code and the upgrade coupon, worked this morning.. anyone else having issues?
I have a ressie for 307.00 and it is showing up but can't make a new ressie or check rates.

I just tried it too and it would not work for me either. Under the full size choice it no longer says 'Coupon will be applied'. I have done this at least twice a day for the past 2 weeks trying to get a cheaper rate (never did) and this is the first time it would not let me apply the coupon to the full size. Hmmmmm...........

I was able to book this rate as well yesturday. I called Nationa today to ask about the unlimited milage thing. (I swear on one page it wasnt unlimted but my reservation states unlimited) The woman was kind of snoty and said that there was a clitch in the system and you "can't" upgrade from a Full to a Minivan. And I told her that I indeed did have a reservation that did just that. She said well the rate for my paticular reservation was over $800. (My reservation is out of New Orleans because we thought we would try out a van before we buy one) I told her not to change my reservation. But did ask if they would honor the rate. She said that she didnt know but to bring the $800 just in case. Has anyone else called?

By law, they have to honor your rate and car size if thier system gave it to you. Likewise for airline tickets. A few years ago, US Airways had a glich in the system and sold 8 people r/t tickets between Portland, ME to Seattle, WA in First Class for $38 p/p.. They were required to honor the rate...

I sure hope this works! I reserved my upgraded Minivan last night and even have the confirmation email: $360 for 10 days and it says:

Your level of service is Emerald Reserve. Please proceed directly to the rental
lot and the car class reserved to choose your vehicle.

I AM an AAA Member and I printed out the special coupon from Post No. 1 in this thread.

Nervously and anxiously awaiting a "National 2-car upgrade coupon user's" report from this thread!

For the Emerald Reserve vehicles, if you bypass the counter, does that mean the keys are already in the vehicle? Just curious - they never mentioned that and I've never rented from National before. I did join the Emerald Club!

10009416 no longer works, hope they will not give us a problem with this. We have all the paperwork

Yep, i noticed this also...I cancelled, thinking I wouldnt need a van, and plans changed, so I guess im out of luck :(

I just booked with Dollar for a week at $240 with taxes, Using the KISS2 promo. I still think that National will have major discounts this summer on vans if gas skyrockets...

That makes at least two of us! :)

Reserved today with National for 12/4 - 12/5 (Car Care Center p/u), for our jaunt to Universal and used the AAA code listed on "Mousesavers". Since this will be our first time renting, my question is for you vets: What is the likelihood of seeing further discounts for our dates and when should I be looking in earnest for them? Thanks!

I've got back to back mini van rentals with this upgrade and AAA code so I am really hoping it works out. In fact it is so cheap, I am keeping it parked during our 7-day cruise! $185 for 10 days, then $149 for the next week. We have 6 people and cruise luggage so we NEED the minivan!
My trip doesn't end till June 16 so I can't report back until then. :cool1:

December is a long ways away! Rates should drop by then (you wont see much of a difference on a 1 day'er, maybe $4 or $5). Start checking National daily around the end of October...

I JUST PICKED UP MY MINIVAN!!!! I used the codes and got the 2 car upgrade. Booked the reservation a couple of weeks ago. The guy at the National counter did ask for my coupon, which I had. Easy as that. Got my Uplander and we'll be on the road in the morning!!!! Yeeeee Haaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwww!!
