Far as I know, people have been getting pregnant before marriage since the beginning of time.

Having said that, I love her and think she is adorable. I hope everything works out just the way she wants and is very happy and has a healthy baby.

I've been thinking more and more about this. What you're really saying has nothing to do with having babies, right? I mean, it seems like what you're saying is you do not think anyone should be having sex before they're married. I'm guessing you wouldn't want someone who becomes pregnant to have an abortion. I thought most people who felt that way were ok with it if the couple decides to get married, but that doesn't seem to be the case here.

I wonder, then, if you think all people regardless of their age should not have sex before marriage.

I am not the person you were speaking to originally, but let me tell you why I might care what you do...

There are general trends of society that have led us to this point in time. I will not get into good or bad.. but I have to care about what my fellow man does because it will effect me or my descendents at some point when it becomes generally accepted by society to do things that are not considered to be favorable. Nothing is more annoying to me than this soundbite driven society where people act like their actions don't have consequences for the world around them.

As for me personally, no, I don't care that she is pregnant before marriage, because odds are she won't stay married to this guy and of course that is because of the current general acceptance by society of divorce.. nevermind that no matter how you sugar coat it, divorce is devestating to kids! Before I get flamed I understand that there are very valid reasons for divorce.. but if the rate of divorce is over 50% do you really think that everyone is getting divorced for the big three.. Addiction, adultery and abuse?

I don't know her political views. I don't remember hearing an interview where she speaks of them. Spouting off about things you don't have all the facts on, though, is extremely common and, imo, doesn't make a person a poor parent (or there'd be very few good parents out there).

I don't know her political views. I don't remember hearing an interview where she speaks of them. Spouting off about things you don't have all the facts on, though, is extremely common and, imo, doesn't make a person a poor parent (or there'd be very few good parents out there).

They're not married yet. Plenty of engagements get broken off.

The poster I quoted is acting as though a child conceived before a couple is married will need help making it in the world. A ridiculous claim.
