We will be going to Nashville soon, and will be seeing the Christmas Spectacular with the Rockettes. :santa:

I am hoping to make a very nice day out of it. It will just be my DH, Me, and DS....

Can anyone here make any recommendations on where to eat for Lunch or Supper???? Not McDonalds/Food Court, but not super expensive/upscale either.

Thanks for any ideas!

I read that the Opryland hotel just opened back up. Lots of good places in the hotel and it will be gorgeous for the holidays. There are some decent places in the opry mills mall but they are chain for the most part.

One place we love is Loveless cafe for breakfast. Love me some homemade biscuits!

Other favorite places include Demo's(italian) and jacks bb-q on Broadway. I can give you several other suggestions as well.

If you like sweets or pralines, you HAVE to try pralines by Leon on Broadway. They will make your mouth water from the goodness.

Loveless Cafe is really good, we looooove their blackberry jam *but* it's west of Nashville - I don't think it's all that close to the Gaylord/Opry area.

Ummmm...but did I say how much we loved our meal there? The portions were huge, I wish we had just split the meat platter and gotten an extra side or two and it would have been plenty for two people.

agnes!

Opry Mills (with the exception of Bass Pro) hasn't reopened, and there's some question about whether it ever will. They're battling with the insurance company now.

I second the suggestion of Loveless (I prefer lunch there - the fried chicken is great!) and Demo's. If you don't mind chain restaurants, I also recommend the Old Spaghetti Factory (the prices are very reasonable), and if you're there after Nov. 22 Margaritaville will be open.

I would absolutely reccommend eating in the Opryland Hotel & walking around - it is really something to see at the holidays!! Their restaurants are mainly more upscale, but they also have a burger & a pizza place too. Here is the deets on the dining inside the hotel:

In the neighborhood just outside the hotel there is an Applebee's, Cracker Barrel, Bob Evans, Santa Fe Cattle Co, Caney Fork Fish Camp, **** of the Walk (fried catfish), McDonald's, a super Thai place (Sukho Thai), and a couple of other little hole in the wall places. I would say that the Caney Fork & **** of the Walk are a bit touristy, which you may prefer, as you are touring the area!!

Also - there was an announcement that the Margaritaville downtown is opening on Monday 11/22, so if that appeals to you....
Downtown (Broadway & Second Ave area) also has a Hard Rock Cafe, Wildhorse Saloon, a couple of brewery pub/grills, Old Spaghetti Factory, and as the pp mentioned - Demo's is VERY good!!

Everything that was located in the Opry Mills Mall is closed, as the whole mall is still under flood repair (or not actually, as they ran out of insurance money & are no longer working on it). The only thing that reopened at the mall is Bass Pro Shops - which you may want to stop at because they have free photos with Santa & kids' crafts-check out their website!

Enjoy your trip to Music City!!

OOPPS sorry about that. I didn't realize that the mall hadn't opened back up yet. We moved away a year ago and haven't made a trip back yet. That makes me so sad to hear. We love Nashvill and really hope to get back there when it's time for another army move.

oh, wow - i never even thought that i would get sensored on the Disboards - it's the actual name of the restaurant, didn't mean anything else by it!! (a male word for chicken - aka "rooster"). their website is "bleep"ofthewalk.biz

Thanks everybody!

Thanks for the link to dining at Gaylord Opryland!

We will definitely check out the Hotel...

Just have to prepared that the cost of a meal there would be more than what we paid for our Tickets to the big show...
