We leave for Tennessee in a week

I have our trip all planned - Cabin in Pigeon Forge, Car Rental, Bristol Nascar Tickets, are all bought/reserved. Our itinerary is all planned ( eek there is rain in the forcast)

EXCEPT
For some reason I just can't seem to pull the plug on booking a Hotel room for our last night. We are flying out of Nashville VERY early Tuesday, so we plan to leave PF on Monday and stay at an airport hotel.

I don't need one with free breaky, as we will be gone by 5 am.

I saw one with a 'managers reception' (aka free small dinner) but I can't remember which place it was now. As that would be useful

We are not there very long, but I don't like old dated hotels or exterior corridors (motels)
I also like spending as little as possible....lol

Can someone offer a recommendation based on personal experience.

We will have a rental car, so we won't need a shuttle, but we would like to be fairly close ( 15 mins +/- away)

Thanks

We stay at the Holiday Inn Express because we do need a shuttle and it is the only one with a 24 hour shuttle.
It is an interesting hotel in that we have stayed the night before flight and had a wonderful clean room and the night coming back had a terrible room that is not clean, once the microwave sat on the floor and cabinet with fridge was gone and it looked like something exploded on the door. Once in another room I went to look out the window in sock feet and the floor was soaked from the a/c unit leaking. Other stays have been fine.
We have had great stays and disgusting stays and figure maybe it depends on who the maid is for each room and how well they report problems.
I will say they have a great breakfast but you will leave too early to enjoy it.
I am not sure if I would recommend or not--there are other chains nearby but they don't have the shuttle running for early or late flights so we are stuck.
With your early flight have you considered dropping off the car the night before?

I'd go with the Gaylord Opryland. It is pretty, new, and clean. It's a quick trip to the airport....less than 10 mins. And you could wander around the outlet or see the grand ole opry that night if you want.

ETA- make sure you read trip advisor reviews for whatever you choose. The area around the airport is sketchy.

Honestly the area around the airport is definitely a hit or miss.

Look up the Nashville Marriott Airport. I've only ever been for work meetings/seminars (I work near the airport.) It was clean but I can't say about the rooms. If there was an area I would recommend it would be towards this part.

It's a bit closer than Opry. I think it really depends on your budget. So you could probably look up some of the hotels in that area which are cheaper.

I have only stayed at one Nashville airport hotel and that was the Super 8. It looks nice on the web site (interior corridors, indoor pool etc) but the place was just gross. I can go into more details if ya like, but long story short, NO. :lmao:

My DS10 has stayed at the Radisson with my parents and reported that it was nice. He, too, was not a fan of the Super 8!

Could the hotel with the free evening appetizeres be the Drury Inn? Never stayed there but I know they have something like that.

This doesn't really fit what your looking for, but we stayed at the Residence Inn. It had 2 bedrooms & 2 full baths. Plus a full kitchen. It was just nice to spread out after spending a week together.

It was a clean, friendly place.

Looks beautiful - not available on my dates

A few years ago, we stayed at the Best Western near the airport in Nashville. It seemed nice enough to me, I have no complaints.

Just bit the bullet on SpringHill Suites Nashville Airport.

The reviews seemed good, the price seemed good.

Wish it was a Marriot that had the 'Managers Reception' like the one we stayed in in Seattle, but alas the rate was in-budget.

I think you'll be happy with the SpringHill Suites near the airport - I stay there quite frequently and have never had a bad experience. It has recently been renovated and is quite nice. The Fairfield Inn across the street from it is a bit long in the tooth - hopefully that will be next.

Interestingly enough, the hotels near BNA have all become very expensive over the last 6-12 months. I was used to paying well under $100 a night for a lower grade Marriott, but they're now averaging almost $150 a night for the nights I stay there. I suspect it has to do with the summer concerts.
