Nascar fans

We are huge NASCAR fans here too!! Our guys are Jr. and Mikey. I love the Speed show on Mondays. Those guys are too funny!! Can you believe we missed all the excitement? I have a good excuse...we we're at WDW!! But rest assured, we will be taking naps today, so we're ready for this evening. This is the best race!! Plus we have to catch up on eveything that happened. ;)

You forgot the Sunday Morning Show - NASCAR This Morning ;) Of course they are off this week since it's a night race. I watch that along with everything else you mentioned :) Started with Inside Winston Cup though, never miss that one.

It will be interesting tonight to see how Busch drives, I saw a bit of his "press" conference - the boy has a really big ego doesn't he? I mean, in away they all have to be pretty sure of themselves to strap in a car and do what they do but his seems overly large. I thought he had learned his lesson last year but guess not.

As for the weekly thread, count me in. One thing we could do is predict our top five drivers for the week. I volunteer to figure out how every one did (by adding their drivers' finishing positions and dividing by 5 - the lowest number wins) and posting who did the best at "guessing." You wouldn't win anything except that weeks bragging rights. I do this on an AOL board everyweek and it's kind of fun. We have gals vs guys thing going too and the gals are kicking butt. Let me know if you like the idea.

Also curious as to whether anyone here goes in the NASCAR chat room during races? I'm normally there and it's kind of fun to chat with others while the race is going on.

That sounds like fun. Count me in! Last year I did something like that on MSN I think.

I think Busch needs to set this one out.The punishment was not not right. Also junior will be in the 2nd chair if not the first.:earsgirl:

Count me in too on the weekly predictions. I also did that on an AOL message board. I don't visit that board as much since I found the DIS.
GO # 20!!!

I would be into the weekly thread also, when I can find time. I love Rusty and Ryan is my second driver. Hence the screen name PenskeSth1 :p
Go Penske Cars
My DH was a big Dale Sr. fan, now he cheers on the DEI cars. Dale Jr. is his favorite though. Who doesn't like Mikey? He is just to funny, and he really is a good driver just needed the right equiptment. I am a Ford person so I was not happy when Penske went to the Dodge.
I would really like to see Rusty get a win this weekend. It has been to long. It just seems like ever since Dale got killed he(Rusty)has lost his edge. I sure wish he would find it again. I miss seeing him run up front. Those terrible words keep creeping up.
Maybe it is time to R#*@*@..

WELCOME TO THE DIS.....I like the way you think!!!!!!!!

Anyone else catch Harvick's comments after the race. I hated that Busch won.

He may have gotten booed, But he still has the win for himself, his team and his sponser. I am happy for him.

I didn't catch Harvick's comments but I read Marlin's on Nascar.com. Naturally he wasn't too happy with Busch after being spun out. He said something like "I don't guess Spencer didn't get him hard enough"...or something like that.

I thought Harvick's comments after the race were funny. Called Busch Rubberhead and said he see's what acting like a butthead (or something like that ?) gets you- boo's. I think Busch looked nervous getting out of his car in Victory Lane, I almost felt sorry for him. Did he do any victory donuts or burn outs? If he did I missed it.

The comments by harvick were right on!!!Also no victory lap and no donuts. He should of just driven the car right to the hauler and left.:jester:

I think Spencer deserved what he got. Not saying that Busch shouldn't have gotten something too. Busch didn't do anything that doesn't happen every race. Who was it that said those famous word "bumpings part of racing", the master himself, DE sr.
Look at last nights race everbody was either bumping or getting bumped. What happens on the track, stays on the track. Spencer went to far.

The quote is rubbin' is racing, but what Busch did wasn't just rubbin', it was going after Jimmy's car trying to cut a tire down AND admittiing it on his radio! He should have sat out last nights race as well. I hope the boo's taught him something and that is to keep his nose clearn. Stupid games on and off the track does not impress fans.

Well, reluctantly I say ....Congrats to Kurt Busch on his 4th win of the season. Man, what a night. I'm not ready to crown Kenseth as the Champion but it would take a miracle for my fave driver to win or just about anyone for that matter (I'm thinking either Lady Luck is a relative or Kenseth sold his soul to the devil or maybe it was Roush who did). I would be watching Harvick closely if I were a member of the 17 team though, that boy is on fire, too bad he didn't get a chance to pass Busch tonight. He and Johnson both knocked Gordon down to 5th in points (bummer). And no I don't blame either Schrader or Kenseth for the accident that took Gordon out - that was a racing deal ;) Happy Schrader finished 12th but thought he deserved better, he ran so well all night - must have been that cool paint scheme. Which leads me to Rusty Wallace - special paint scheme not good for him. I'm glad he choose to go to the hospital and I'm glad he's okay.

I was also happy for Schrader but was hoping he would of had a top 10. Don't forget he gets to do the opening on Inside Winston Cup Mon. night :D
I agree with WDWLVR about Busch and Spencer. It wasn't just racin it was intentional.
ToriLammy, maybe Kenesth didn't have to sell his soul to the devil maybe he sold it to Roush, same thing  J/K

I agree that the accident that took Gordon out was just that - an accident. I can't imagine anyone catching #17. He is just too consistant.

Maybe winning and being booed will humble Kurt Busch alittle. He is young and arrogant like many of the drivers. Hopefully this incident, and how he handled it, will prove to be a life lesson.

You know, I think Busch was reluctant to get out of his car last night, the crowds seemed to be split on cheering/booing. He was pretty wiped out though, Bristol is a tough, tough race for those guys. I do think Kenseth would have caught him given enough laps. I too love Inside Winston Cup on Monday nights. Remember when Alan was all stiff and "matter of fact". We were like "get that clown outta here!" and he has really loosened up and warmed up to the sport. We like him a lot now. Our favorite scene is from a few years ago when Kenny, Mikey and Johnny were skipping together arm-in-arm on a track - does anyone else remember that? I am a die-hard Rusty fan, but Mr. Benson also won my heart from this very show. He is just such a nice guy and a good driver too! Like a previous poster said, how can you NOT like Mikey, he is charismatic, funny and talented. I am glad he is finally having a decent year. This year seems to really be thrusting the "young guns" into the top positions while the veterans (Rusty, DJ, Mark Martin, the Burton bros, Marlin, Elliott) cannot even break into the top ten in point standings. It is kind of a turning point for the sport. But, I am still a big fan!:bounce:
