I don't think Teresa will let #8 go either. I think a lot of people would like to know what she is thinking. I understand the need to savor her privacy, but in her position there has to be a little public announcements.
Teresa has made a statement, from http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/racing/05/10/earnhardt.dei.ap/index.html?cnn=yes
In a statement, Teresa Earnhardt said DEI will thrive following Junior's announcement.
"While we are very disappointed that Dale Jr. has chosen to leave the family business, we remain excited about our company's future," she said. "Dale and I built this company to be a championship contender, and those principles still apply. Dale Earnhardt Inc. will win. ... This company has a great legacy and a bright future, built on loyalty, integrity and commitment."
Teresa has been in talks to merge with Robert Yates racing and with FORD - RYR already races FORDS.
Jr. has a commitment to Chevrolet and he wants to only race Chevrolets - he said the talks with Yates was another reason why he was leaving DEI.
