I s anyone watching? :earseek::earseek:

What did you think? Was this indicative of many an American household?

Bless that nanny!

I was watching it and I can tell you one thing.....discipline begins when they are very young, not when they are 9.
This couple should have started that a long time ago. I sure hope this is not the indicative of many households.

Wow, that was painful to watch. Those children had no discipline to start with. And the mom had no contol over them. If my kids acted like that, no way would I have a new leather couch in the house. DH says we wouldn't have any furniture because all they did was climb on it. I'm surprised they were doing so well by the end of the show, but I think they have a long way to go.

I'm also curious to know if the parents "stuck with the program". How much of the children's good behavior was just good editing?

Yes, painful to watch!::yes::

We happened upon this by accident. DH, DS#2 and I were amazed that anyone could live like that. There were a few times I wanted to wipe that smirk of the mother's face myself.

I have two rambunctious boys who are now teens and I can tell you my kids never did any of the stuff those monsters did all the time. Whew. It was painful to watch. Imagine being a next door neighbor to that family?

Also, how could they afford a nice home like that with her at home full time and him a police officer? Hmmmm.

I can't believe she was talking about getting a new couch- keep the one he wrote on and get a new one when they're bigger. It's also funny that the couch is what made her finally do something. When the kids were beating the crud out of each other all they got was a "cut it out" but some pen on the couch and WHOA! Momma's gonna lose it!!

It was the cusion. Flip it over.

I wanted to smack the kids one.:eek:

The guy said flat out that the couches were "not even close to being paid for". My guess is that they were living on credit!

As for the family itself...YIKES! My DH wants to see an update to see if they stuck with the program that Nanny made for them. I doubt it myself. Those were LAZY parents. They didn't want to get up and deal with the kids at all :(

They definately had more kids than they could control. Why would you do that?

I'm thinking since the last two were twins, they only wanted four. And maybe all those times they were hoping for a girl...

I watched this for the first time last night! (Has it been on before?) Anyhow, I think it should be MANDATORY watching for all parents to be!

I was HORRIFIED that a 9 year old could be so out of control, I wonder how he is in school?! It looked like he was taking some responsibility by the end of the week however... I to would like an update on how the family is doing, the mother was just LAZY and I wanted to smack the smirk right off her face! The father after the beginning looked as if he really wanted to try....

My six year old watched it with me & said that she should be there to help them out :teeth: I think I agree LOL.....

Count me in as one who wanted to smack the smirk off the mother. Was she lazy or what? I couldn't believe it when she said she couldn't get up at the table cuz she was eating. :rolleyes:

I was convinced they were drugged for the end of the show! ;)

Having raised four children of our own and done daycare for many years, I found myself in shock and disbelief! IMO, the parents are the ones who needed the Nanny for encouraging and allowing their children to behave like animals.

Now I know our 10 grands are true angels from heaven ^i^. ::yes::

:hug: Sandie

I hope things got better for that family!!!

As a former teacher watching the oldest attempt to sit in timeout, I kept thinking he has to be an ADD child!!!

I was wondering if it was real, because really, would you really let your kids act like that!!

Holy Cow. My DD looks like and Saint compared to those kids last night. I couldn't believe that they were hitting the Mom. Funny how she was totally against the program until something of hers was ruined. Than all of a sudden the program looked good to her.

I think she's too laid back to continue this program now that the nanny's gone. Looks like she takes everything with a grain of salt and so "oh well." Luckily both parents seemed easy going and there weren't fights or arguments between them. They just seemed to be a "no system" type of family. They'll most likey manage just fine in there world of chaos. They also seemed to be a typical middle class family with the" only" problem of undisciplined kids.
