Anyone been recently ~ What were your thoughts on the menu?

The menu I've seen from Allears looks limited. Would love to hear people's recent experiences.

Thanx:)

We ate there last month. WOW, just the atmosphere, was totally worth it. I guess they have a different menu for dinner. DH, had the steak and said it was excellent. Our DS9 :yay: DS3 had pizza, which they loved. I had the tortilla soup(the best I have ever had) Afterwards everyone had desert shots, and I had warm chocolate ooey gooey banana cake(fantastic);) DH and I are going this weekend, for our 10th anniversary:love2:

Some of the things on the menu change.
Here's my site with pictures.

And the menu from last year. I actually sent AllEars this picture.

Best advice is to go for lunch at 11:30am. Crowds are light and you won't really need a reservation. If you don't arrive early, then you can make a reservation at the booth located in CityWalk in front of the movie theater. If you want a table in front of the big window, tell the person who greets you. You'll probably wait an extra 20 minutes for a window seat, but it's worth it.

The closing time of Mythos is always up in the air, that's why I tell people to go for lunch at 11:30am.

Hi -- one follow-up question. You say the closing time for Mythos is always up in the air. Typically, if the park closes at 6 p.m., what would the hours for Mythos be? Thanks!

I assume since this is in the park that people come in straight from their day riding rides , so dress doesn't matter ?
Just checking as it sounds like a nice restaurant

:rolleyes1

I wonder about their hours too. We were there last Friday night. The Park closed at 7 and Mythos was closed awhen we strolled by at 6:00 (in fact there wasn't anybody even in the restaurant - it looked like it was closed all day).:confused3

Usually and thats a BIG usually cause they arent consistent with hours, if the park closes at 6P they take last seating at 3P. More than not its been that way when we eat there off season.

Thank you so much! One last question, and then I promise I will shut up about Mythos...

How far in advance can you make reservations?

Thanks!

Right, the hours are weird when the park closes at 6pm. It's almost as if they stay open for a full lunch and close around 3pm. That's why it's better to just go there at 11:30am, eat, and then continue. You'll feel like you watched a movie when you come out. Share a sandwich if you want to save room for desert, otherwise take the leftovers back to your room.

Not sure how far in advance you can make a ressie. If you show up at 11:30am, it won't matter. Emirils and Tchop Chop are the ones where you need a ressie far in advance.

The Rissoto of the day changes frequently. on 1/7/07 it was blackened Mahi with a huge sea scallop on top of a spinich rissoto with a wonderful sauce. ask your server about the specials of the day and do not be afraid to take the plunge. :cool2:

Heres my favorite

We were there in mid-September, had lunch on a Thursday at 11:30. We made a ressie at a booth in IOA on either the Monday or Tuesday preceeding that Thursday.

Our only complaint -- if you can even call it that -- is where we were seated. The place was empty and stayed nearly empty during our whole meal, but we were seated very close to the kitchen with a large wall/barrier between us and the rest of the restaurant and view of IOA. Everyone who was seated after us were put along the "edges" of the restaurant with no view. Everyone also asked to be moved to a table with a better view and were moved.

So if you don't care for where you're seated, don't be shy about asking to be moved to a spot with a nice view. We were well into our meal by the time we realized everyone else was asking to be moved and were being moved, and we would have felt akward asking at that point.

The risotto is spectacular. Go hungry!!! The risotto at the time we went had a champagne/lobster cream sauce mixed with it, five or six big sea scallops on top, a drizzle of raspberry goo around the edge of the plate and some veggies along the side of the plate (asparagus and some sort of root vegetable). DH had the salmon on a cedar plank, and my mom had the pasta of the day. All were "good," but the risotto won hands down. DH and DM both wished they'd gotten the risotto.

The price was right around 15 or 16 bucks. I get this same type of meal at our local gourmet French bistro, and I pay $28 for three scallops at dinnertime. To get five or six large sea scallops for LUNCH at that price is a very, very good deal.

It isn't typical theme park food at all. If you're a foodie, you'll love it.

We are going the last week of February into the first week in March. I'd really like to try Mythos, but with them closing at three it puts a damper on our plans. Time isn't an issue, but we are not fans of eating big in the middle of the day. Do they frown upon sharing a meal and then sharing a dessert? Do they charge extra to share a meal?

Heres my favorite

Ooooo YUMMMMEEEE!!!! I had the wrap last week with the mashed potatoes and I cannot TELL you how good that is!! My silly son even begged me for it after he ordered something else! It is AWESOME!!

My son's favorite is the Rice Krispy Sushi... yes, I wrote that! Everything is soooo gooood!

Oh, did we enjoy Mythos this last December! Even my food-snob DH!
Here is a pic of what I ordered! (My DH thought it was wierd that I would take a picture of my food but I knew it could come in handy!

All my favorites on one plate: Crab Cake, Chicken breast, mashed potatoes, asparagus, and a wonderful sauce! mmmmmmm! And yes, just ask to be by the windows if they don't seat you there. (they did seat us by a window and we watched an almighty rain during our meal that was finished by the time we were::yes:: )

We had fun when we ate there 'cause the atmosphere and food are great. However, the service was not so great...actually, the hostess (said she was manager) was downright rude. *shrug* I ignored her 'cause I didn't want to put a damper on an otherwise great experience but looking back, I should've reported her. She was *that* rude.

Though I'm glad we experienced Mythos...I am not hesitant to go back due to our service.

Hope your experience is absolutely wonderful! :)

How long ago were you there?

What was done or said by the hostess that made you consider it "rude":cool2:

This is on the menu. It is the Chicken Oscar, and it is excellent. If you remeber the Corvina from long ago and how good that was, well this is just as good:cool2:
