Hello all,

This August I am really looking forward to my first trip to Universal for a long time!

For us, the food is as important as the rides ;) and as I have read so many great reviews of Mythos, I am keen to try there.

What can you tell me about it?

I hear the food is great and the atmosphere nice as well. What do you thinK?

Thanks

Karen

I can certainly recommend it - we love Mythos - the food is excellent and the theming imaginative. Can't wait to pay a further visit in July.

Am really disappointed now. When I read the title of this post I thought Mythos referred to the Greek beer. :confused3

Not that I'm alcohol obsessed you understand. :rolleyes1

Karen, I absolutely love Mythos (DH not so much). Everything about it is fantastic - the food, the theming, the wait staff.

See if you can get a table out on the verandah, for great views across the lake to the Hulk and Seuss Landing.

Here are some pics to give you an idea of what to expect.

WE love Mythos ~ The atmosphere is fantastic and the food is wonderful.

I'm sure you will have a fab time Karen.

We ate here on our trip last month and it was great. And it was nice just booking it that morning instead of 6 months in advance. We had tortilla soup which was fantastic and DH had a seafood risotto (I believe the risotto changes daily) and I had a chicken wrap which was also very nice. :thumbsup2

Great pics Joh - now THATS what a banana is for!

Never tried Mythos , you know how it is with Josh  - but I know people who have been there and said that it's one of the best theme park restaurants going and the views from inside are great too.

Johnny, if you went as soon as it opened at 11:30 it would probably be quite quiet and, if you asked to sit out on the Verandah, Josh could run around to his heart's content. I do understand how hard it is (eldest has ADHD so I remember what a pain it was trying to have a sit down meal when she was younger) but you can but try these things. The servers are so great there that I'm sure they could find something for Josh to do (colouring or something perhaps) or you could make sure to get him a little gift before you went in so he would have something to occupy him. Service is pretty fast there as well.

Thanks Joh - we might well give this a try.

One of our absolute faves - fantastic food and not at all expensive. Is that the Asian Salad Joh? I had the Asian Salad last time and it was to die for. Cant wait until August.

Maggs

Wow, thanks for the feedback guys :)

Joh, I am holding you personally responsible for my rumbling stomach now :rotfl2: Fabulous photos!

I can't wait to go now :) :) :)

Yes, Maggs, it's the Asian salad. DH had it and he said it was lovely, with the exception of the avocado (I think) dressing on the rim of the plate.

I remember when we were there last August that the waiter was telling us that they had been awarded "best theme park restaurant in the world" in some awards ceremony. Obviously I've not tried every theme park restaurant in the world, but Mythos is definitely my favourite so far!

Great pictures, Joh!

Ooh I like the sound of this, think we'll be trying it next week! So you don't have to book in advance? Can you reserve a table at guest relations when entering the park or have to go to the restuarant?

You can do either. Not sure how busy it's likely to be next week - not that busy, I wouldn't have thought. If you want to book a table, go to the guest relations kiosk just inside the entrance to IOA (as you walk under the bridge of Port of Entry, there is one right in front of you). Otherwise, if you go to the restaurant when it opens at 11:30, they will either seat you straight away or give you a time to come back. Hope you enjoy it :)

Hi, we ate at Mythos the week before last and would certainly recommend it. As for making resewrvations, we just turned up at 12.30 and judging by the number of people hanging around the doorway didn't expect any chance of a table that day but decided to ask anyway, we were told there was a 15 to 20 minute wait, added our name to the list and were seated 10 minutes later.

I did overhear one stressy American female complianing that she had just tried to make a reservation at customer relations but was not allowed to make one for the time she wanted, which was NOW, the really patient and pleasant girl on the front desk at Mythos tried several times to explain that she could only make a reservation for 1 hour in advance, ie if she wanted to make a reservation there and then they would be happy to seat her at 1.30, otherwise she could place her name on the list and wait 15 to 20 minutes like everyone else.
