Do they still make it my DN11 wants it for her birthday. I did not see at toysrus.com or at our Target. She is a boardgame nut & she says this is the one she wants. Also another game I heard was fun is Apples to Apples, any feed back?

Thanks Kae

I am not sure if it is currently out. Maybe you could try Ebay? I used to love that game when I was a kid :) We have not tried Apples to Apples, but I heard it was good also.

Check amazon.com. They had it a few months ago. They had the old version and a new version.

Can I come over and play it too when / if you find it? My sister and I loved that game. :sunny:

Definitely try ebay! My sister and her husband have been lucky enough to win quite a few auctions there for older board games.

Good luck!

didn't see any..but there are 17 on ebay..from older vintage versions to brand new ones..even electronic versions..good luck!

We love Apples to Apples. We play it every time our extended family gets together. Everyone enjoys it, all the way up to my parents. In fact my brother and sil bought their own copy so we don't have to bring ours when we visit them. DD6 isn't quite ready to play on her own yet, but she can be on a "team" with me. Your DD11 is just the right age.

The only thing I know about Mystery Date is that it's the game Charlie's mom always wanted (and Santa gave her as an adult) in The Santa Clause.

Apples to Apples is a great family game! Definitely get it for her! :thumbsup2

Apples to Apples is a blast to play! We play a lot as a family and with friends. :thumbsup2

We have Apples to Apples Jr. and my kids love it! You need more than a few kids to play. My kids usually play it with friends when we have about 6-7 kids together. All of the kids seem to enjoy it.

Thanks everyone. I will keep looking. I always got the dork!! Who now is known as Bil Gates :lmao:

My daughter just got this a few days ago as a birthday present. The parent bought it at Toys R Us. (the actual store not online)

I had to play a few times and it was well, mindnumbing to say the least... quite boring!

Edited to say Mystery Date not Apples to Apples. Mystery Date was well a bit archaic in my eyes. You pick one of four ladies (at least there is diversity and there aren't all blond blue eyed woman). All four men are set up in a plastic closet in the center of the board.

Apparently once you put the doorknob on the door the Men shuffle.

You are given a certain amount of cards, with dice you move and do specific things with the cards (trade cards take away, etc.). Once you have the three that go with your person --purse, high heels and evening gown for the specific person you have to wait until you get to the space of open the door.

If you open the door, and your date doesn't match (not the prom guy) you lose.

I have a few beefs with it... its set up that the African American woman can only go out with the AA guy. Why is that? There are tons of mixed dating couples/marriages. Whos to say that the date has to look similiar to the woman? That bugs me as well.

I LOVED Mystery Date as a kid. My best friend and I spent hours playing that stupid thing! :rotfl:
