MYPoints gift cards expiration

Does anyone know if these cards have an expiration date, or when they start charging you a fee?

I usually save my points, but after reading the thread on why you should redeem them now, I'm weary of saving them. I have about 20,000 points.

I think it depends on policy of the store/restaurant whose gift card you order, plus where you live (some states don't allow expiration dates on gift cards). With most gift cards you can count on at least a year.

20,000 points is a ton! Were you trying to save up for something special? If nothing else, gas cards or Walmart/Target cards could be used for everyday expenses (and you could put the money you would have spent aside, and save it for a different purpose).

I do my points too and have been saving them. I never read anything on it being important to trade them in. Could you reiterate why? Now I am wondering if I should trade in mine.
