They aren't selling POTC MagicBands, but rather covers that can go on the colored bands (called...wait for it..."CoverBands")...plus all sorts of other bling...

I see thank you. Lol re coverbands. Well I want all the bling lol..

Hello gang,
I was directed here as you guys are the experts on this topic. I have a few questions, thx for your help.

1. Cbr goes on-line Oct 7th , I am checking in on the 1st and will be there thru the 9th. Any chance I will be part of this or am I out of luck due to my early check in date?

2. How did you receive word that you have been chosen to use this new service?

Thank you for your help!!:thumbsup2

We are staying at OKW checking in on 10/11. OKW is coming on board on 10/14 and we are not being included, however, we are changing rooms on the 19th and will be included with this new reservation. I never received an invitation, just noticed on my MDE that choosing my Magic Band was an option and once I renewed my AP and linked it, I was able to choose FP+ times as well.

Have a great time!

OK I am sure my questions have been asks but I really have no desire of going through 223 pages to find the answers so I will asks 2 questions and I hope somebody can answer.

1st - Does my entire group have to get the same FP+? In a couple of years I will be going with my entire family of 11. That is myself, DW, 4 DDs, 1 Son in Law and 4 Grandchildren. Ages will vary greatly. 3 in their 20s, 2 teens and the Grandchildren all under 8 with one 2 yo. What the teens would want at some of the parks would be totally different than the younger children. Some of the younger ones could not even ride some of the rides. Can I get different FP+ for the different individuals? Sure the whole family may do Peter Pan and by then the 7 Dwarfs Mine Train but the family would have to break apart some of the time for all to enjoy.

2nd - When making the FP+ and Disney gives me 3 things and say the times are bad for me or I want to change how easy is it to switch. Especially considering my first question.

In their infinite wisdom, Disney has decided that you don't know what you are doing, and that you must be mistaken if you want only one FP slot.

Lovely, huh?

Yes, it does seem awfully bizarre that it is 3 or none! Whoever thought that one up wasn't too bright!

I've been calling 1(407)-939-7765 and pick the prompt for tech support. Good luck! let us know what they tell you.

Ok, so I have an update here. Honestly I am beginning to believe that nobody really knows the answer! I called IT and at least she asked for my resort confirmation number to look at my account, which is more than the original CM I spoke with did. Initially after looking at my account she said that because I bought the one day tickets as a package that they would be used first. Then I asked her to make sure that the 5 day tickets were actually on the band and she said "oh, but you didn't make any FP reservations for the first day?" I told her that as we arrive quite late, we wouldn't be going into the park on our check in day and that our first park day would be the next day. She then said, "oh, well it looks like the 5 day tickets are prioritized on your account and you can have the resort change this when you check in". So, what the original CM told me was seemingly not true, but even this CM seemed to contradict herself (went from the 1 day ticket would be used first because it was purchased as part of the package to the 5 day tickets are prioritized). I am just hoping that this will be a fairly quick and simple fix at check in but am not convinced!

When I was there this past weekend, the CM at Guest Relations told me that from now on, since my renewed PAP is linked on MDE, anytime I am staying, my PAP will be automatically active on my KTTW card... That is why KTTW cards are going to be showing up on the 'MagicBands and Cards' section... It's a bit of a pain...

But the KTTW card " showing" in MDE were from an August trip. A trip where we never had MBs and never linked our PAPs to any KTTW card. So, it makes no sense at all that those would show up in MDE 4 weeks after travel.

And, if what you are saying is rue, then all old KTTW cards will show up there. So, after this trip, I'll have 6 KTTW card from old trips showing up?!?!

To update on the saga, two more MBs showed up today. We'll see how this all goes!

The thing is, MyMagic+/My Disney Experience isn't just about magic bands and fastpass+. It's about a number of RFID features (and thank goodness because the business I work for manufactures RFID chips :woohoo: ).

For our stay in May at the CR, we had, for the first time, room keys that were RFID enabled (and no "ticket media" on them because we're annual passholders and it was a room only reservation). My guess is that since RFID access to hotel doors and "touch to pay" is part of the whole upgrade, that's why those KTTW cards are showing up in MDE.

Just wondering where this came from. It was the first I had heard of people renting points not be included. It's not a big deal one way or the other, but I am curious now if people renting points have been included in testing.

I don't know for certain, but I can't imagine renters being excluded. A rented DVC is identical to every other DVC reservation, it's just not in the name of the owner.

I think earlier it might have been an issue if you had the owner call and make the reservation for you. Earlier it seemed that the reservation would only link to the person who actually called in. So if the owner made the reservation they would have to make you family to link it to you and still they would be on the ressie. They seemed to have fixed that- or at least it seems to link better now to other people in addition to the person that physically made the call.

If the reservation is linked to your MDE, then i think you would be fine.

I have had my trip booked since February and I am using my moms DVC points. She made the call an the reservations but it all in my name and linked in my MDE account since the day we book. So I don't see it being an issue. I added my parties names etc and no issues.

Question.. if you use your 3 FP, can you get more via FP+ .. I had made a choice between our morning park and our evening park, and am reading here maybe I should go and pick morning and then switch parks, after time has passed is this correct?

*** also if you can get more, can you do it at a different park..?

Reports have been that yes, you can get additional FP+ once you use the scheduled ones. As for a different park, I have heard yes and no, so hopefully someone that has used it recently can comment.

A recommended strategy has also been to go straight to the best rides first thing in the morning at your first park, then schedule FP+ for the rides you want at your second park.

Good luck!

any word if people are still able to double dip with FP-? i read a post a few days ago saying someone was having trouble useing the KTTW card for paper fast past. We arrive in 17 days, just trying to keep up with all of this

HMMM Back to modifing FPS AGAIN LOL!

I have a quick question. I have my package linked and everything shows up fine for my family. I added my sister and my dad. I can see my sister's family and my mom along with their packages. However I can only see my sister's and dad's tickets. I cannot see tickets for my mom anyone else in my sister's family. If and when we become eligible for FP+, will I be able to make the reservations for everyone, even if I can't see their tickets? My concern is that I won't.

We were selected for the test this October. I called because I was worried about the same thing.

What I was told is that you can get fast passes (using a KTTW card you will be given in addition to the Magic Band) as long as they don't fall into the time window of a FP+ you have selected. As a result, you don't have to wait to until you have used your FP+ reservations for the day. You can also cancel or change the FP+ selections at any time using the mobile app.

Based on what I was told, I would say yes. However, you may want to call Disney to confirm. There is a special number for Magic Band and FP+ questions: 407-939-7849.

Good Luck!

I have the same concern as I can see my tickets and my DDs tickets, but not DH's. I guess I'll call.

They were very helpful when I called. They answered all of my questions very patiently. They even tried to link some 13 year old park hoppers we received when we were evacuated from Fort Wilderness during Hurricane Charlie. :lmao:

They weren't able to, but we will be able to link them when are on property.

My MB arrived in the mail today, tried it on, it is NOT comfy. I have a fairly small and bony wrist and the hard part of the MB is almost exactly the same length as the width of my wrist. This means that I have an awkward shaped thing on that doesn't sit comfortably. I hope my kids aren't as bothered by them as I am!

Have you set up friends and family for each person. I did this prior, and as soon as I could make FP choices I could see everyone who was going at the same time as I was. However, prior, I did link my account and my DD account together by sending her an invitation and she accepted. once that was done I can see all of her family. I just finished making FP and was able to make them for myself and her and her family.
