Well, FWIW, I wouldn't do it myself. But it is $100 for up to 4 MBs. And if it allows them to use FP every day of their trip (haven't kept up enough to know if that's how it all panned out) then that price per FP+ entitlement might not be very high at all.
Don't forget free parking, too. If you get to FPs all of your trip by getting 1 night in POP or another resort that is testing, I see the up side and the cost (compared to most things Disney) is not bad. Basically, you could get 7 days of FP+ and 4 MBs for $70 more than what you would have spent. A family of 4 will drop way more than that on one character meal.

I am sure this has probably been answered and I am sorry if it is a repeat but I can not read this whole thread. Are my fast pass reservations in my magic bands so when I go to the attraction they know?

Not "in" your MagicBand, but in the Disney computers and associated with your MagicBand. But essentially, yes. You don't need anything other than the MagicBand (or KTTW card works too).

Also my memory is short lol so will I get my fast pass plus reservations on some kind of ticket in the mail or my check in folder? Sorry I am so ignorant about fast pass plus.:confused3:confused3:confused3

No...you will need to do your own printout or otherwise keep notes of your FP+ return times. You can also use a smartphone with the My Disney Experience app to access your profile and see them, or go to one of the kiosks that have been set up.

Hi All

I have been lurking on this thread for several weeks. We are leaving for WDW in less than three weeks with a split stay at Bay Lake Towers followed by Boardwalk Inn. I can see both my hotel reservations and ADRs in My Disney Experience. I have also linked our annual passes at this site. Our APs were purchased in June and are the RDIF ones.

When I select Add Fast Pass Plus, I get the I'm Sorry pop up. Do I assume that for this trip we won't be able to get Magic Bands or select any fast passes in advance? Is there no hope at all? Honestly, I am tired of checking on the MDE site each day and feeling rejected (lol)

Am I also correct that we might be able to get double fast passes by using both our annual pass and our KTTW card?

TIA for any clarity provided. I will say that a great deal of excitement regarding this trip has been dampened by the reality that others will be able to experience something new and cool, and we will be left out.

Neither BLT or Boardwalk are taking part in testing at this time, so no MagicBands or Fastpass+.

Yes, as it stands now, your KTTW card will also be able to get Fastpasses.

I agree with this, but even if it comes down to $0.01 a piece, it doesn't change one fact : it's not free anymore. The next question is : what is the limit for an acceptable price ? a nickel, a dime, a buck, a fiver ... there is no end to this, because once the process is set in motion, there is no stopping it.

FP are supposed to be free, they've always been free. There is a line, and once the guest crosses that line, or for instance when the guest begins to accept to pay, even a lousy cent, for a Fastpass, then the road is paved for Disney to sell FP+
Most people will argue that $0.01 is nothing, and as you just did, many people will argue that it's rather cheap compared to what guests usually spend for their disney fix. But a line has been crossed here. Guests have proven that, as long as the price seemed "low" or "reasonable", they're ready to pay. Now the only thing Disney has to do is to make FP+ very worth paying for, and as a result, the price can be higher, guests will be happy to pay.

It might seem cheap now, but no matter how cheap it is, it's still paying for something that's supposed to be free. And paying for somthing that's free is always too expensive, be it only 1 cent.

You can probably get magic bands if you do a 1 day stay at POP at the beginning of your vacation. That's what I did. I read a lot of threads where people did this and they got magic bands for their whole stay. So I tried it last night and with in a few minutes, magic bands were offered to me:)

I have a question about this ghost reservation thing. If I make a reservation at pop for the first night then go to my regular hotel CBR . I can get magic bands ? And fastpass plus for my whole trip? Even though I have heard that once we change resorts the fast passes will no longer be valid for our trip. Or is the last item something we are all just waiting to find out?

And if people weren't willing to pay then Disney could not make it an option and we could all spend our time waiting in lines. FP was a creation of Disney to enhance the experience. It is not a "right" or guarantee. Just because it is free does not mean it is "supposed to be free."

There are posts that said people had no problems using the FP+ on the second half of the split stay at the non testing resort..

I'm sorry, but I just have to chuckle about the idea of doing a "ghost reservation." I hope that you actually get to stay the one night at the other resort. Otherwise, it seems absurd spending $100+ just to get Magic Bands and FP+ for your stay. Original FP is still available until full rollout of the MBs, and the MBs (as I understand it) act the same as a KTTW card. Just seems a little over the top. I also assume that a "ghost reservation" is potentially taking availability away from someone who might actually want to stay at that resort.

I would tend to agree with your assessment here... Even though we don't take full use of the FP system, i.e. rope drop, grabbing as many as possible through out the day, it would be nice to schedule a few e-ticket rides here any there. We grab a few (one or two a day on average) for the rides we MUST do... Others, we deal with lines if we want to ride. Kinda wherever the flow takes us.

That being said, I don't think I would shell out $100.00 for the ability to schedule FPs. As for the magic bands, I really want to try them and hope they are available for my resort when we go in Nov but I believe KTTW does the same thing except that its not strapped to your wrist...

Does anyone know if there are things that cannot be done with KTTW that can with MBs, i.e. charging, park entrance, room entrance?

I'm just curious what happens if what the cm i talked too is right that when u transfer or checking to the new resort a non testing one the fast passes don't work

I never said I would do this. But I hate the fact that the testing resorts are getting a leg up on me already. They have the priveldge of not having to run around (sometimes across the park) just to get a fastpass to ensure they can ride a ride without a large wait.

MagicBands can do everything that the current RFID KTTW cards can do. There are some upcoming interactive experiences in attraction queues and character meet & greets that will only work with MagicBands.

a lot of us feel that way. especially as the testers can use FP+ and the current system.

Chuckle all you want but since you asked I will tell you why I did this. I have had custody of my 5 year old granddaughter since day 1 of her life. Her parents are both heron addicts and this baby has been through a hell that no child should ever have to go through. We have not had a vacation since this nightmare began. This is my granddaughters vacation and I will deny her nothing for this week. She deserves this. I have splurged and bought all the extras so she can have a week of happiness for once in her life. She thinks the magic bands are so cool and if all I have to do is spend and extra $114 to make her happier, I WILL. You have no idea the hell this child has been through and the dangerous situations she has been in. Sorry to others for the TMI but since this person asked....................

Life is not always fair.

Yes I get that but last time I checked my money was just as green and I feel all should get the same perks
